cryptomancer Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 A Raven enters the carnival grounds, wearing a suit of green spandex, covered in question marks, of the purple sort, and with a tip of his tophat, and a twirl of his cane, he begins to dance and chant for the game...... (flys off)
Mynx Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Stepping out of the shadows enough so that her form can be seen, Mynx begins to applaude
Salinye Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 *Salinye smiles becoming a quick fan of the poetic tongue of The Raven.* I guess I'll take a stab... beauty beyond all compare hidden deep inthe cloak she does wear wonderful words upon her tongue bright and sharp as the blade she own power and poise feline in part captured my friend with the love in his heart This I would have to say is none other than Mynx. *smiles* mystery and magic beautiful blonde welcomed me as if to the pen i belonged These kind and generous words, I think are about me. *blushes* curtious beauty has our applause for she wet the great lizard for the amusement of all This of course must be the wonderful Miss Ayshela. picture perfect with rubbery friends juggles them too if it does not offend This would be the ever-mysterious Zool Zoolio. lord of location fourth of dimension could probably work while away on vacation This one was a bit harder for me, but I’ll guess Xaious cloaked and dry to the bones we see if this were new york death of lawyers you'd be I’m going to guess “Death of Rats, The Grim Squeaker” for this one. scales that weigh both arvice and hide pleasantly filled with power and probably pride Hmm, I’m guessing the ever playful Wyvern? bunnies do bounce not only a bit but can put out an eye with that big pointy bit This one could be no one but Stick! (The Big Pointy One) older and wizer soft with his word interestingly protected i heard Master Peredhil…Interestingly protected, indeed. did not notice him at first sight but that sexiness gave my ego a fright *laughs* Orlan, I’m guessing. If not, he’ll want to know of his competition! shelly was right mighty ye be how mighty thy works i will have to go see You have stumped me on this one, Riddler… many kisses for beauty making her blush then protecting her virtue as a gentleman must This of course, would be Gyrfalcon. *mock glares at the ranger for making her blush so…* sly and cunning red by look cuddles for purchace but please do book This would be the best cuddler at The Pen-Daryl! beauty wrapped in sorrowfull prose both note and thanked as she already knows chased by suiters caused lots of fuss missed my chance but only just questioned us all about new blood we suggested you post and await the flood Alas, you stumped me again with these last three stanzas! Yui-chan Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 (edited) chased by suiters caused lots of fuss missed my chance but only just I'm going to have to guess that's Katzaniel. Who can forget the Love Notes? {Edit: Ah, on second thought... questioned us all about new blood we suggested you post and await the flood This would be Kunax-san, neh? } As for the rest... I'm afraid I agree with Salinye where she answered and am as stumped as she is for the others. Thank you for the challenge, cryptomancer. Yours, ~Yui Edited July 8, 2004 by Yui-chan
Salinye Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 OH! Good call, Yui-Sama! *hugs her wise partner in crime* ~Salinye
Yui-chan Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Thank you, Sali-chan. I think I might have a guess for another one. shelly was right mighty ye be how mighty thy works i will have to go see Well, I dunno who Shelly is, but this one puts me in mind of M'Lord Dreamer (or Zadown). He's certainly mighty, and the 'ye' in there seems like a subtle clue... And for the record, his works are indeed mighty, so even if this isn't about Zadown-san, you should go check out his stories! Movin' Along, ~Yui
Katzaniel Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 No, no. Shelly is the author of "Ozymandias, King of Kings" and "mighty thy works" is a second reference to the poem. That's Ozy. I can't help with the last one, though.
cryptomancer Posted July 8, 2004 Author Report Posted July 8, 2004 A spandex coated Raven circles the tent, chanting his chant as his wings he bent diving low above the crowd, hear some more, listen now..... (stops and looks at the crowd, "need help?") clue is give clue is say it you still stumped that way you may stay as for the one that stumped you all i made a critique for all to endure. (flys off) If in my rhyme i did offend please complain and in triplicate send (circles back) the first you guessed true, but not the next part (quotes, and smiles) he captured my friend with the love in his heart... well done to all well done to all if i think of more a post i'll install
