EDIT by Katzaniel: The following was written as an application to the StoryWeaver Guild. Katz out.

Okay, a number of things first. From the title and the codex this seems to be where I would apply for my story writing. If it isn't, or if I am not meant to write here, please message me before deleting the thread.

Secondly, Ness and I are very much into writing stories together, since her view of the world adds an extra dimension to my otherwise fairly morbid writing. If this is the right place then I'll talk to her and suggest that she post an applikcation as well.

Lastly, we have already started a story in the assembly room entiled "Mara and Morlas". If (yet again) this is the right place, then I'll talk with Ness about asking it to be moved here now that she is a Page.

Sorry for the long introduction, but there was a lot of stuff I needed to ask and I haven't a clue who to message. Okay, on with the application...

A brief description of the setting the Ness and I created.

As is known by the scholars of Barakesh, the fabric of existance is divided into seven Planes. The nature of these Planes cannot be confirmed with any degree of certainty, for the passage from one Plane to another is beyond that of mortals. However, the most ancient of texts provide clues as to thier makeup.

The Plane of Dreams is a wild and twisted place. It is where those who do not have the ability to ward thier dreams are taken when they sleep. As such, it is filled with all manner of beings, each one created by the mind of the dreamer.

The Demonic Plane is the dwelling place of foul beings that are totally evil. Powerfull wizards may well have the ability to summon demons from this Plane for a short time, but to do so is extremely dangerous. The price of such a summoning is that of mortal souls, the amount of which depends on the aid requested by the wizard. Despite the danger, many consider the knowledge and power that demons can provide to be worth the price.

The Elemental Plane is where the beings of earth, air, fire and water dwell. These too can be summoned by wizards for information or a service. While they do have power on the Mortal Plane, it is not so great as the power of demons. However, one has the comfort that no souls will have to be sacrificed.

The Plane of Chaos is the place from which wizards draw thier magical energies. Nothing lives on this Plane, and even demons are forbidden to travel there. At times, magical artefacts are stored on the Plane of Chaos, left there for safe keeping until they are brought into the world.

The Plane of the Future is the place from which soothsayers draw thier power. Here the winds of time are stored, and those with the ability to do so may use these winds to foretell the future, though even the best soothsayers cannot be certain of what they see.

The sixth Plane is the Plane of the Gods. Here the deities of the world dwell, those of both good, evil and neutral. Some of these are powerfull, some are merely shadows of thier former selves. Thier power is determined by the amount of followers and the strength of thier worshippers faith. The clerics of the Mortal Plane may call upon the gods to aid them, and it has been known for many others to make pacts with thier gods in order to gain similair aid. Whether the prayers are answered, and exactly how they are answered, depends on the god being called on.

The last Plane is the Plane of Mortals. Here the majority of the races dwell, elves dwarfs, men and many others. To most the other plains are merely a myth, but some know better.

Each plain is guarded and watched over by a member of the Seven, a group of gods that have existed since the beggining of time. It was they who created the world and the plains, but despite this many refuse to believe in them. They are the most powerful of all the deities, but they have all sworn an oath to never intercede directly. To do so would plunge the world into complete and utter chaos, in all likelyhood bringing it to an end.

Instead, when they see that the balance of power in the Plane for which they are responsible is tipped too far, they create a champion to remedy the problem. The power and strength of these champions depends on the Plane for which they were created. On very rare occasions a champion is sent to correct the balance on another Plane as well, for the Seven know that to maintain order they must work together. Frequently the champion in question will have to be altered, either increasing or decreasing thier power, so that the balance is not shifted by the champions themselves.

This is definitely the place to post your application, which i am pleased to accept. There is equally definitely a place for you and your writing here, and if you would like to write with Ness i would also encourage her to apply. We aren't in the habit of turning away qualified writers, here. =)

As for your co-authored stories - The Hearth Room would probably be the best place for that. It's sub-titled for one author stories only, simply because we don't want the round-robin type stories posted there. As i think about it, though, there would be no reason why collaboratively written stories couldn't be posted there.

Welcome. =)
