Lady Celes Crusader Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I like the new interpretation of the Baner's role. That way, it'll force the Baner to choose everyone but himself. Tanny: I've read the Day one in the Garnavon Hall Case. It is a very smooth read and I realize that it had been a very hectic day to resume. Great work.
Merelas Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I vote western as well. I don't think the Mutiny on the Bounty has the most votes by far... I believe it's 7-5, and I was one of the 7, and I'm changing. It should be tied, I believe.
Gnarlitch Posted April 22, 2004 Author Report Posted April 22, 2004 well, except that I was one of the five, and my vote doesn't count, so...6-4 at the moment...
Jammeez Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 (edited) ...er...6-5, I believe...with -1 for Itchy and +1 for Merelas on the Western side, and -1 for Merelas on the Mutiny side. BTW, Merelas, just find someone who wants to play Mutiny, and get them to cast for Western. Then the votes will be right. Actually, I'd like to do either one, but I still vote Western. Somebody else vote WESTERN!!! Gertrude "Trudy" Young McAlister, a recent widow and a handsome woman. They tried to keep me off this wagon train - traveling without a man is not recommended. But I wouldn't hear of it. I've got my shotgun holstered on the wagon-seat and some fine strong children to help with the livestock. Isaiah, jr. may not yet be a man, but he's got his father's determination, and little Nell is well past weening! I'll just have to keep an eye on that daughter of mine. Pol-LY! POLLY! http://www.themightypen.net/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif -or- Cutthroat Sal, the riggin' rat. I'm as comf'terble in the riggin' as a lan'lubber in a oferstuffed chair. Been sailin' since d' day I was borned. Skin's brown as a nut, and hair's bleached a'most pure white. But me eye 'r sharp, and t'ain't no man better wit a dagger'n me! Edited April 22, 2004 by Jammeez
Tanuchan Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 (edited) I'd like to play (I made a vote for mutiny, but I'd do west too) but if you guys want to start before friday I'd better not sign up. Katz voted for the Mutiny, but will play Western, also. Although I'm not sure she'll be able to participate... =P How did Lady Celes, Vahk, and Eyremon vote? Maybe we can convince one of them also? And we could try convincing MeThinks that Westerns are as fun as pirates (Were is Nave, by the way?) Edited April 22, 2004 by Tanuchan
Jammeez Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Now that I've chosen both characters, I'm not sure which sounds more fun!
Nave Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Sorry all for not posting prior to this. I've been somewhat out of commission and busy. I think I'm going to sit this game out. Just got a lot on my plate at the moment Will probably sit the next WW game at KenzerCo out as well. I'll be reading the game thread though Have fun all!
Vahktang Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Mutiny And western Let's do both at the same time. I think Gnarlitch is way too sane. Has anyone ever done two games at once? We can stagger the response time. Any takers? If not, Mutiny. Lord Jim, a former midshipman, defrocked for a crime he won't admit too, now a member of the crew. He still dreams (and schemes?) of his own ship, his own crew, and a trade of copra from the south seas to England. Western Abraham Cartwight taking my boys, Adam, Eric, and Joseph to Nevada to start a ranch, mining, and farming empire. Three times a widower, each of the boys had a different mom (and they all looked like the same person ) More later, Vahktang
Lady Celes Crusader Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I did voted for Western. Now I must think for a character for either scenario.
Gnarlitch Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 Ok, it appears as if everyone but MeThinks would be quite happy with either, and him only because of the Peter Pan thing... Anyways, I'm thinking it's time for the western theme, as the Mutiny on the Bounty isn't truely a pirates theme for MeThinks. But hey! You can still play a pirate character dude! As far as the two games at once idea. Well, I know that I could handle it. I've even sugested it in the past (like about 7 or 8 months ago at KenzerCo. but no one was very interested) I think it would be a heck of alot of fun to mod. :woot: If we EVERYONE in the game wants to try it we'll do it. Otherwise it wouldn't work. So, western unless it's both. Oh, and uh, Mr. Cartwright, sir? You are heading the wrong way for Nevada, sir. There here wagon train is headed for the gold strikes near Frisco, and then north to the Oregon farm country. Yer welcome ta come along though!
Lady Celes Crusader Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 Since it's Western time, I have to think.... hum... I know! Charlotte Gainsbourg: A strongwilled Cajun orphan who embarked on an adventure of her own, in hope that the West will give her the future she'll dream off.
Savage Dragon Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 Hey just because i was eager about pirates doesn't mean im not willing about cowboys. I'm thinking i'll be a runaway of sorts, if the story can manage it. A lad of seventeen years, by the name of Jake Burrow who comes with nothing more than a old friend, his horse, a blanket, and a six-shooter. The gun carries but one bullet, no one but Jake knows why. No one knows where the rest of his family is or even if they're still alive. All they now is he's headed west with this wagon train. So thats my deal. Im pretty sure western is our final setting so lets get started already. I dont think i could handle two games at once. so lets save pirates for another time.
Vahktang Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 The gun carries but one bullet, no one but Jake knows why. No one knows where the rest of his family is or even if they're still alive.Well, that's pretty obvious. On another trip across the plains you were abandoned by you train. You were given one bullet to commit suicide when it became too bad. You escaped that fate and now save the bullet for the leader of the train who abandoned you. How's that? Oh, and uh, Mr. Cartwright, sir? You are heading the wrong way for Nevada, sir. There here wagon train is headed for the gold strikes near Frisco, and then north to the Oregon farm country. Yer welcome ta come along though! Well, you have to go through Nevada to get to Frisco, right? And I understand that there are silver strikes in the Ponderosa area. More later, Vahktang
Gnarlitch Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 we be takin the Or-ee-gone trail, runnin frum Misery, throo Nebrasky, an' Wyomin, the top o' Utah territoyr (gotta watch out fer them dang blastid Mormons yonder *wink wink*) and inta the north part o' Californiay. Mister, I do believe thet you be thinkin o' the Sonorra trail mebbe, thet heds more south like. It's a bit more dangerous thet way, more injuns an outlaws, an such, an a mite less water an feed fer the animals. Mainly, those thet go thet way are headed fer the silver mines like ye sed, or plan on going further south into Texass or Old Mexico. I dun went thet way a time or two, but I dun got shot at too many times. I prefer this here northern root meownself. Now, iffn ya wants ta go to Nevada, ye kin go with us about half way, ta Fort Laramie, and then hed south. Problem is tho, thet thet takes ya right through the middle of some of the most dangerous injun and outlaw country in the west an there aint much fer roads. Why both Robbers' Roost and The Hole-in-the-Wall are in thet area and ol' Butch an Sundance have been rather active lately. You an yer boys look mighty handy, but I don' recommend it nohow. OOC: Just going with the standard Oregon Trail route that was most used by wagon trains of settlers headed for "greener pastures" is all. Nothing personal at all. But, as I said IC, if Nevada is your stated destination, you could stick with us at least until Laramie. *shrugs*
Katzaniel Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 Whew, I thought you'd opted to start without me. I haven't had my appointment yet but I'm feeling *much* better this morning, so I'll post a character here but I won't post in the actual thread yet, just in case. Not that it matters now, but I'm curious: in the Mutiny idea, since the baner was the protector of the seer, would s/he know who that was? I'd like to play a kid but I dislike being restricted in my votes when by a character who isn't very smart, so I'm going to be a young girl, Kara, who ran away from home very young and has been living with the Indians, who know very well that for her own safety this white girl should stay away from them. So when your caravan was spotted from a ways away, she was escorted there discreetly by Red Bull and said farewell to them. She's about 11 or 12 but living in a not so cushy setting has given her a wide view of the world and she's very observant. However she may not be smart enough to not mention to people that "Hey, Indians are nice!" Probably this evening I'll post something where I wander up to your group.

Logging, furs, land. Could use some more coffee, though. Loved the Hoot Gibson stuff. Could almost see you spit tobocco in the middle of that speech. More later, Vahktang
Katzaniel Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 Been thinking again. Name isn't Kara (too modern) but none of you need to know it - she goes by Cat, short for Young Cat, the name she went by with the Natives. She didn't run away, or it wouldn't make sense that she didn't go back later. So: Her town had a couple of Indians living in it. (This could have happened, right?) Most people didn't have much to do with them, and either did she. One night some radical white people attacked the town for harbouring Indians and her parents ended up dying. She ran away then. Does this sound possible/probable? I don't watch many westerns so I'm going to need help with a lot of points when we get started. Oh, and Gnarlitch: If you're hoping for Deg to show up, why not wait until after Wyv's show tonight? Deg usually comes online during that, I'll ask him if he plans to join. And we often see Ozy then too.
Eyremon Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 I will ask ozzy when I see him saturday night. dean might ask him before then. he will need to find a computer to hop onto

Just to give you an idea, as Katz isn't in EST and if I remember well, you are in MST. And just in case you don't know about the show, check the Any.Give.Moment. thread ~Tanny PS: You will clarify if you're using the Hunter idea, and how it works, right? I'm supposing it's what Leif tried at K&C... Edited April 23, 2004 by Tanuchan

Ok not everything has to do with pirates, you know. my bullet might be for something else, im not totaly sure what it is for yet. but my life doesnt revolve around Johnny Depp, but of course if you want to go on beliveing that i look like Johnny Depp, i understand
Degenero Angelus Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 Well, if it isn't too late a certain absent Deg would like to get in on the game? I've got a character idea made up. Markus Black, lone drifter from the city. Coming out west trying to get away from some of the more notorious people he's had dealings with in his random driftings. Kind of a bad boy.
Katzaniel Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Looks like you're still in time Deg. And in case no one gathered as much from my IC post, I'm in. I just wanted to say (granted, somewhat belatedly since my mother needed the computer) that I had some sort of virus (with the oddest assortment of symptoms, including stiff neck, sore back, eyes and jaw, extended heachache, fever, and shortness of breath) but am improving and feel, well, next to fine at any rate. I should have no trouble keeping up once I catch up with everything else too, and I plan to do that tonight.
Tanuchan Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 (edited) Glad you're in, Katz, and more yet that you're feeling better Do take care of yourself! *hugs* ~Tanny Edited April 24, 2004 by Tanuchan
