Solivagus Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 This was written for a competition, about 3 years ago. It was, quite honestly, the hardest thing I have ever written. The idea was to write an understanable story in no more than 50 words. Now with me being so long winded and having a tendandcy to try and spend ages on description and stuff, that was damned hard. I was just wondering though-could this be turned into one of those quill quest thingies? Just an idea. Even if it can't I wouldn't mind hearing how easy or how difficult other people would find the task, and seeing thier results of course . "He's mine," snarled Ranulf, overtaken with berserk fury at the sight of the hulking ogre lumbering towards them. No one argued with him, he was welcome to the beast.
Alzorath Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 The burning city crackled all around them like crumbling horror, "We will get our revenge." - As the three wandered off, death could see the day it would cover the world come, and followed closely behind them. To the dismay of the world, those who wished to save it - destroyed it. Exactly 50 words...not easy at all... I really wanted to use more detail but couldn't .
Katzaniel Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Once there was a king and a queen and their three children. One day an evil dragon pestered the eldest daughter, but a knight came and saved her and became her husband. And they all lived happily ever after, except the dragon, who was dead. OOC: Somehow I think I cheated.
Tanuchan Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Kerana looks at the destroyed estate, burning embers burying memories away. She would leave, and tragedy would stay. Her family dead, but avenged. Her childhood game, now her profession. Swordswoman. Mercenary. Deadly. In later years, bandits would regret the attack that gave birth to the legend. ~~~~ It's fun trying But I'm not sure this tells a story...
Solivagus Posted March 28, 2004 Author Report Posted March 28, 2004 Richard read with interest the replies to his post, before voicing an idea that was feeling all alone in, for want of a better word, his mind. "What if we tried writing an entire story out of mini sagas?"
Tanuchan Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 "What if we tried writing an entire story out of mini sagas?" It's an intriguing idea... I imagine something like each mini-saga being a chapter. I like that ! If you go on with this idea, let us know
Katzaniel Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 Tanny - yours is good. Much better than mine, which was four notches below Pen-quality writing I like the idea too. You should begin, though. And maybe in the conservatory?
Appy Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Holding her breath she looked at him. His eyes glaced over and he whispered her name. That was all she needed. Turning around her shoulders shook with the burden laid upon her. Never would she see him again. It would not be the same person. Would not be her son. Difficult difficult.. but very interesting to do I'm looking forward to if and when you'll start this as a project of any sort
