Tonight I Cry

============

Stranded on my own plane of existence,

My thoughts bleed out onto the open field.

They caress and begin to drown my conscience

And now my pleas of forgiveness are concealed.

Tonight I cry,

In the deep, dark corner that I've built.

Tonight I try,

To pick up the lost tears that I've spilt.

The darkness consumed me long ago,

As my siphoned heart turned cold black.

It's lifeless beats faintly show,

And kill the emotions that I lack.

Tonight I cry,

In the deep, dark corner I call guilt.

Tonight I try,

To cleanse the crimson tears that I've spilt.

My hands are now stained and baptized in red,

And I have no more tears left to wash it away.

My clouded mind kept my judgment well fed

With the emptyness, that's here to stay.

Tonight I cry,

In the deep, dark corner that I did tilt.

Tonight I die,

And sleep with the tears that I've spilt.

Wonderfully morbid, and well written. The verse-chorus idea is a cool way of emphasising certain parts of the poem.
