purple_shadows Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 How did it come to be That the distance between us did grow Almost as if overnight Like a gaping crevice And me without my bridge You turn and you walk away Love alone never kept anyone together We have nothing to say Like shattered porcelain And you without your superglue I had almost forgotten what it’s like to bleed As always, you’re just the one to remind me
Falcon2001 Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Good poem, dear! I especially liked the bits like "and me without my bridge" or "and you without your superglue." The whole shattered porcelain is quite a powerful image to me, but that's probably more personal experience.
Arashi Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Very nice indeed. The distance between friendship is very sad. Especially when that friendship has ended. I have felt both losing friends entirely and distancing of friendships that I wanted to stay with and wished would have gotten closer. Now I must go and kill the bleepy monster in my head. He keeps making a painful bleeps inside my head.
