It is more common thank you think. A lot of people really can't believe it when things start to go right for them, especially after a long period of misfortune. Some just take it as it comes but others, like you, are waiting for the bubble to burst. Subconciously you think if it's going to happen, you want it over with already so you push, like you say. The trouble is, most of the time, it is the pushing by you that will burst the bubble, not anything else.

The most important thing is that you recognise you are doing it, many don't. Next time you find youself starting to push, stop. Back off. Take five minutes to clear your head. Tell yourself this is one of those times and notice what you are doing. Being aware of it really is in your favour. Only time will let you trust again, no one can give that to you, you have to build it. Just try not to judge the present on the past, they are bad comparisons. Good Luck Arwen, *hugs*

Common?! So far as the Pen is concerned, it's universal, although I think that's more because we're articulate than odd. Why we humans have a universal mechanism to make us feel alone baffles me. . .but I digress.

From what I've seen of you on the poetry boards, chase shinies. Flit from happy moment to happy moment and create 'em if they aren't there to hop upon; dance over awkward moments secure in the knowledge that there's a shiny one ahead. Be shiny enough to attract shinyhunters from ten leagues away (can't push away while you're attractive)! Introspection is a sure way to stop being glad.

Prickly, but trying to be personal.

Hmmm. Both good answers which encapsulate that which I was going to say.

Love with your heart but make decisions with your head.

Know that you are just as good, and just as bad as everyone else - so respect yourself and allow others to respect you, and respect others for what they do right as well.

Believe that you are worthy of respect and love.

Believe you have a future.

Believe I love you.

In this case I'd back Tzimfemme 99%. The other one percent goes to Sorciere because she's right too, but Tzimfemme has the shinies... :D

Look how he turned out!!

Everyone above is right-Believe you deserve the happiness you have. Cling to that thought. When something goes awry-don't decide it is the beginning of a tumble down the stairs. Simply sidestep the problem and move on.
