WrenWind Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Blank paper stares White, lined and bare No thoughts to scribble on the page Nothing to say that is witty and sage You left I'm bereft empty of feeling stare at the ceiling no pain not sane can't run it's done curl into a ball and watch the world fall Blank paper stares White, lined and bare No thoughts to scribble on the page Nothing to say that is witty and sage
Regel Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Symbolic that blank page.....all the potential in the world and nothing to show for it. It is as simply and yet elegant a poem as I have read in a while. Nicely done.
Yuki Kokoro Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 A very graceful expression of both the emotion you were feeling at the time and the difficultly of writing. You know you're talented when you can convey the frustration of having nothing witty or sage to say in a witty and sage way.
jonathan_wolfe Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Writers block is the greatest fear, which is confounded by overthinking the though of writing. One method is to write the words that come to mind, it's not good for prose, but for poetry, letting the images, the sounds and the words flow can be one of the most dazzling experinces. Be like the wolf, exist only in the now.
Savage Dragon Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I love it when writer's bring the end of the poem back to the begining like you did. Great poem with deep meaning that i think everyone here at the Pen can realte to in some way.
