The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

Ok, I`m not actually THAT egoistic....

An Ode to Me

Once when everything`s been changed

and the order of the world rearranged,

when all the green on Earth has gone

and nature`s finally been won.

When there are no nations any more,

just some people left from the Big War.

Then in a dark and cold cliff cave,

that once was shaped by ocean waves,

a lonely sheet of paper lays

waiting for its gloriful day.

This piece of hope, hidden in that cave,

to all humans will show the way.

This old yellow paper that so worthless seems -

actually the whole world it means,

the rows on it, that everything say,

from a long lost poetess called K.

And THAT is why the Pen is mightier than the Sword.

The words will rekindle a light in the minds of those numbed by disaster. Poets dream of possible futures, hopes, beyond the life-threatening hopeless situations of the present.

It takes courage to post something positive about one's self - society is so quick to smack down anyone who looks as if they have self-esteem.

I like this.

Wyvern grins and applauds Krista's poem.

The title immediatly grabbed my attention, and the poem certainly didn't disappoint. It reminded me of hip hop boasting in a very good way, particularly the last line, though the theme of immortalization through poetry set a slightly more serious tone. I particularly liked the provocative imagery you used throughout, as it made for a very entertaining read the whole way through.

The only line that I felt might be improved a bit is the "and nature`s finally been won." line, as I felt that it didn't evoke the same image of the destruction of nature that the line before it implied.

Clever and well done. :)

Kudos. I liked the rhyme scheme, structure, and overall flow of the poem.

I echo everyone else, as usual :P

On a side note, I hope to see more of your work soon!
