ImmortalGrace Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 (inspired by a song i'm sure you'll all be able to figure out) All we are is dust in the wind Crumbling as the ages pass by Our memories long forgotten Who will remember you? Will your tale be told to eager ears? Or will you pass by unnoticed We all hope that future generations will hear it Some part of us yearns Yearns for our tale to be passed on So that maybe they will absorb the knowledge Hopefully learning things that we didn’t know Then maybe our mistakes won’t be theirs as well We can only hope One thing to ponder though Will your tale be worth telling?
HopperWolf Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 (edited) nice piece! gentle imagery with wording that seems to flow when you read it. I clear and concise message to boot. excellent stuff. I like. and for what it's worth I hope my story will be worth telling. but it remains to be seen. (don't know the song though.... am i out of the loop here?) Edited November 25, 2003 by HopperWolf
Beautiful Nightmare Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Really cool poem but whats the song that inspired it?
Ayshela Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 (whippersnappers!) (hehehehehe) Dust in the Wind, by Kansas.
Mira Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I love it! This is a topic that is very important to me and probably many others as well. If there is no after-life, then being remembered by future generations (even those who don't recognize a Kansas song when they here one) is the next best thing.
