As long as I had a voice To voice what I need to say. I knew i'd be fine That i'd survive another day. All I could hang onto Was the idea my voice would be heard. All that kept me here was having a say And it being free as a bird. My one last try to savour What i once knew so well. My last attempt to make me heard On this point i began to dwell. What did i have that was worthy? What would make people hear? Not knowing what to say, This is when i began to fear. Then the day arrived, You shot me down. Told me my opinion was wrong And then turned it around. You tore my hope into pieces And left it lying there. You shredded my last bit of dignitiy And hope someone would care. You left me without a reason To hold on and stay. You ripped up my pride And spoiled my last day.

When the Mudhen (a very very smart, lazy young man) was asked why he didn't fight, he replied something to the effect, "A blow might win a battle, but it heals and the memory fades. A word can win all battles and hides in the heart, wounding afresh at every turn." How true. To you and your Principal, I can only say the following: Many people with the illusion of power are insecure and use it to destroy anyone that they see as strong. Consider the source, give them their moment of pride, and continue on with YOUR life. They can only destroy you if you let them.
