Merelas Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Well... I really haven't worked with creative writing in Spanish, though I do know quite a bit of it conversationally... so pardon how choppy/unprofessional this is Yo creo en la verdad. Yo creo eso la verdad es la luz en el mundo. Yo creo la verdad voluntad triunfo encima el oscuro. Yo veo la luz. La luz es brillante. La luz sustos la sombras lejos. Yo veo la luz. Yo creo en la luz. Pero yo no veo la verdad… y yo aùn creo. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Roughly translated, it reads thus: I believe in the truth. I believe that the truth is the light in the world. I believe the truth will win over the dark. I see the light. The light is bright. The light scares the shadows away. I see the light. I believe in the light. But I do not see the truth... and I still believe. Comments and critique are welcome... I'm hoping to try a longer, more drawn out effort sooner... and I'm sorry to any other spanish speakers who notice that, hey, HE CAN'T SPELL IN SPANISH! Lol, it's true, I'm terrible... but hey. I tried, right? Quote
Kalypso Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I think your peom is refreshing. I love poems that radiate hope. It's great that you're exploring writing in other languages. If I ever get around to brushing up on my Spanish, I might give it a try. I know a little Spanish, and your spelling looks pretty good to me, although i'm not an expert. Quote
Annael Posted November 19, 2003 Report Posted November 19, 2003 Hon, you can get away with the spelling easily. Like this: every country has a different dialect! And they spell the same words differently!! Trust me, I've run across this enough. Besides, I've got friends that are Spanish Mother Tongue speakers that can't spell worth beans! hehe. Muchas Gracias para eso Querido. Tus palabras estan esperanza. Quote
Lady Celes Crusader Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Very good poem and, although I don't speak Spanish, I can manage to find out which word is which since French and Spanish have lots of words the looks alike. Congrats to inaugurate the Spanish forum. Quote
Salinye Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Merelas! I liked this a lot! It sends a GREAT message, and the last line really gives the poem entirety!! *hugs* ~Salinye Quote
