Illianna Wolfsong Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Vlad gave me the thumbs up to go ahead and post this, so here it is: Illianna and Vlad's first Haiku Night, the soul's black cave The air too still to breathe in Smothers you with cold. Fear encompasses all life, A heartbeat breaks the silence. Frost slowly attacks Syncopating passion's flame Making you a slave. Slavery need not be found If beyond passion dwells love. To love one must trust Fear is the slayer of trust Deny fear or fail. Love can always lead astray Watchful eyes will never help Lover's hearts exposed Open many doors for blight Frozen dreams denied As love draws it's final breath Night regains it's smothering Wretched circle this Love's demise robs us of sleep Again we know fear. And so it goes forever We will never know of peace.
ImmortalGrace Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 ImmortalGrace and Degenero Angelus' first Haiku (my verse is first, second is his, so and and so forth) Slowing your soul Your keys to tranquility in reach Nothing to fear Love is the last thing I want All it does it hurt so much Struggles within Seems to be my only existance Searching, seeking Finding Answers Answers bring me so much useless pain Want to forget There can be no forgetting The world crumbles to my feet Fearing the dark Leaving nothingness behind me now I run crying A trail of tears Marking my way down the road of life All I have left Faceless people scream at me Why can't they leave me alone? Why must I run Why must I be the one to fear them Hopelessly lost
Gwaihir Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I like Illianna's idea so... mine and Vlad's haiku's...certainly not particularly proud of my side of the set, but... The tree stands in grass Sun setting red ...makes shadows To hide a killer Dusk be the perfect cover For death to strike in it's wake Marching fire ants See unwary picnickers Move in as to strike Just as I'd fallen asleep; Warm grass and my yelling son The plump child sits Bread crumbs spill over the ground Chomp--ant bites--kid yells Burning sensation in chest, Last light he saw - setting sun.
WrenWind Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I also like the color change idea. Wren and Vlad gets the black. Thank-you Vlad for you patience. Modern Knowledge Just a few short words Writen down in cyberspace There for all to read The joy of having knowledge Found in a few simple thoughts Spread information A plague through the internet Ignorance be bliss Much can be learned if you take the time A gift given to the literate What happens to the hardcopy A tool for all everywhere Lost in the internet age Treasure never to be found Mist of time sweeping away We are so brutish In this so-called modern day Brains thought of as naught Creativity abounds New artforms are growing strong Between who has all There must be a balance found With who lacks access Passwords and security Mistrust and lies create hell
Alaeha Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Alaeha and Doomgaze's Haiku: Cold Reality Spinning all around, Into a world of beauty, Real and sometimes fake. Look into the lands of dreams. Look into the realms of life. Imagined wonders, Wishful thoughts, and memories. False, yet sometimes true. We are beckoned by hungers, That are so unreachable. Why do we desire? Are they simply in our head? Realities come true? Tantalizing images, Creations of our dreaming... Always out of reach, No matter how we struggle. Shall we, then, despair? Despair the loss of our hopes, Define what's real and what is not. Watch them flying by, Trying to grasp the fakeness, Of what we can't have. Fantasies, our fondest dreams, And adventures... our escapes... All are crushed by Earth. The cold realities of life Crush us in the end. We can never escape them, No matter how hard we try.
Vlad Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 (edited) Kalypso and Vlad Life I print on paper Revealing layers of life Truth in black and white Peel away from evil here But learn lessons of the past A man can be great Or his own worst enemy Through much scrutiny The eyes of society, Always judging and shaping. Are young minds molded? Individuality... Does it still exist? Secrets of the solemn mind Avoid contact with others Pressure to be like- Desire to be alike- Everybody else. Mankind is mindless mirrors Reflecting on each other Clueless clods are men All marching mechanisms Casting off their selves Mindless mayhem thrives on them Life sans reason is not life To fight for a cause Die for a noble purpose Man can never learn Self discovery is key To unlock man-made shackles Some can overcome Slaying stagnation of thought Gaining your true self Looking far within a soul Seeing depth to existence.
