DoomGaze Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Immortalitas Perditus, Immortality Lost =========================== For the first time I felt pain, The pain of those around me. I realized i wasn't immune anymore Because I've obtained the curse of mortality. I shall fold and conceal my wings, And store them in my memories. Fall through the unreachable clouds Leaving with nothing but unpleasant worries. Love was the only thing I wanted to have, But with one, I must have all. To live forever amongst the crowd, unloved, Or to lose everything in the fall. Regrets resurface, from my choice, While I yet strive to live again. I broke into this small, dark cage, And found a world that has no end. Piercing through the vast darkness, I discovered a beauty greater than Heaven, She gazed at me with eyes so pure, But her wings were as black as a raven's. A fallen angel she was, just like me, Her story not so different from mine. My wings unveil themselves, now crude black, And with hers, they intertwine. The love I found here, Cannot compare to the cost. To suffer through all the agonizing pain, Immortalitas Perditus, Immortality Lost.....
Peredhil Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Wow, I'm glad I was going back through the page - I found this gem. I think it would be hard to write from the viewpoint of a fallen angel (and not the type in barroom pickup lines), but you pulled it off here. The celebration of love found after falling - then the final contrast summation, really hit me with the power contained in the right to choose.
