  3. hmm...most of it comes straight from a nightmare....for you to decide which parts are dream,... and which parts are dream Dreamlogs 2 She laid her head on his chest, and listened to the fastened heartbeat. Their sweaty bodies were shivering after the heat they had created just moments before. Still enjoying the afterfeelings, she saw a spider crawling over the wall. It was skidding sideways, almost crablike, and every time she blinked her eyes it had moved a bit further towards her. Lazily she closed her eyes, and decided not to pay any attention to the creature. When something tickled her shoulder she thought it was her lover. “Again?” she mumbled sleepily, but smiling. Upon opening her eyes she saw that he was fast asleep, and with a stinging bite she realised that it had been the spider-like creature that had been tickling. It had not only bitten through her skin, it had bitten itself under her skin it seemed, since it was gone. She turned around and noticed that her lover had disappeared, as if he had been a hallucination all along. Her shoulder hurt badly, and she got up to have a look at it in the mirror. Her reflection told her that the little monster had nestled himself comfortably under her skin. With awe she touched the little lump that was now showing on her shoulder, and felt it moving around. She looked back in the mirror, and saw that the lump was growing before her eyes. It felt alien in her body, and she started clawing at it, but her nails somehow didn’t even manage to scratch the skin. The lump had now reached the size of a football and started sprouting arms and legs. It was moving wildly from the inside, and was kicking against her shoulder bone. She put her hands around the lump and pulled. It came loose with a tearing sound, and she started screaming out of pain. It was as if someone was slicing a knife through her skin, stuck a salted finger in the wound, and was now twisting it around. Waves of pain and nausea overtook her, and surged through her body like a tidal wave. With a final pull the lump came off her shoulder, and she held a full-grown baby in her hands. Looking in the mirror she saw the skin on her shoulder close again and after only second not even a scar was left at the place where moments before had been a gaping wound. Her shoulder was as pure and white as it had ever been. She looked at the baby in her hands. It was clawing and tried to grab her neck. It managed to cling on to her and with its tight grip it chocked her breath away. In a away she felt sorry for this thing, but her feelings of disgust were stronger. She pulled it off her neck, and put it down on the sofa. The thing started screaming straight away, and stuck out its chubby arms to be picked up again. She looked at the creature and saw that, although it had no hair, it had the facial features of a four-year old. The high-pitched screams cut through her soul, and out of guilty feelings for this unwanted child of her shoulder she picked it up again. Immediately it clung back to her, and sank its pointed teeth in the soft flesh of her neck. With a scream of terror and pain she ripped it off her, and threw it in a corner. The moment it hit the floor it transformed into a sort of hellish dog, and started bouncing around the room. It was laughing with that same high-pitched tone it had been crying with before. Suddenly it stopped bouncing and sat down, shivering, in a corner of the room. Sharp, pointy teeth flashed in the half-dark room when it grinned evilly in her direction. Its almost white eyes rolled sideways, and showed the blood red behind of the eyeball. She couldn’t move. Feeling guilt, sorrow, and fear at the same time, she was glued to the spot. This appalling creature had come from her body. She wanted to step backwards and bring herself into safety, but she also wanted to feel it close to her again, as close as it had been before when it was still part of her. The decision was taken out of her hands. The creature jumped forward and flung itself at her. Panic-stricken she started hitting at it with her hands, but every time her hands seemed to come close, the demonic hell dog had already moved. At that very moment it started shrinking again, and turned back into the spider like creature she had seen crawling over the wall. She could feel the eight, hairy little legs wriggling around on her shoulder, and all she wanted to do was faint and escape this reality. She woke up with a start, and sat up straight, her eyes wide open staring at the memories of the dream. It took several moments before her heartbeat calmed down enough, and realisation sank in. With her sudden movements she had woken up her lover. “Honey, are you ok?” he asked on a worried tone. She nodded and snuggled back into his arms, back into safety. “Just promise me that we’ll never have kids.” He laughed softly, and kissed her forehead, “You know that we agreed not to.” She didn’t reply and only held on tight to him. But in her stomach a little, hellish creature had started growing……

  5. hmm...if you manage to write things like this, I bet there's a lot on your hard-drive that we would like to hear, but you might think isn't Pen worthy... Whenever I get thoughts like this I alsways go back to Peredhil's Should I post. Maybe a good read? and uhm....please keep posting *huggles warmly before she walks off*
  6. The letters on the paper had started dancing before her eyes. The target group had hooked up with the other marketing terms and the SWOT analysis she made was surely drunk. Sweetcherrie closed the case she had been studying and pressed her fingers against the temples of her forehead. This client wanted the impossible and had trouble to formulate his wishes. She had been trying to fins a middle way between costs and needs, but it had become later and later, and she still hadn’t found a solution. She closed her laptop and looked at the clock, it was already almost midnight. She decided to go for a walk in the Pen keep gardens, and hoped that some fresh air would clear up the fog that had taken over her brain. She flicked the lights off, and firmly closed the door behind her. She walked through the dark halls of the penkeep and walked into the gardens. For a moment she thought about which path to take best, and decided that she would go towards the lake. She pushed a few low hanging branches out of the way and firmly stepped on. The gardens were magical even in the dark; a strong scent of flowers hung in the air, and the screeches of different owls sounded through the night. She hoped not to walk into someone, she loved every pennite, but tonight she just wanted to be alone with her thoughts. It was a warm summer night and the air was humidly weighing down on her. Crickets were joyfully singing their song and the occasional frog joined in for backing vocals. When she reached the lake she sat down on the side and dreamily stared over the water. Thousands of stars reflected in the wrinkleless surface with the moonlight to guide them. She dipped her finger in the water and watched the circles that were slowly growing bigger. The water felt warm and it was tempting to go for a nightly swim, but firstly she didn’t have a bathing suit, and secondly she didn’t exactly trust the lake in the Pen keep; who knew what creatures lived in there. She was in a mellow romantic mood, and on one hand she wished that there was someone to share it with, but on the other it was nice to have some time to herself. She plucked a grass stalk and put it in her mouth, it even tasted like summer. She lay down on her back and stared at the stars, they seemed to wink at her in turn, and she wished that they could give her the answer to her client’s problem. She listened to the crickets and some bubbles that had found their way to the surface of the lake, and slowly she felt her headache go away. Sweetcherrie knew she had to go back soon, and find that solution because her client would expect her to present one in the morning, but she just lazily lay in the grass, not feeling quite ready yet to go back. Suddenly she heard a sound of snapping twigs, but when she lifted up her head to see who it was, there was nobody there. She didn’t worry about it too much, since she had arrived in the Pen keep she had seen and heard so many weird things, and although some of them had been somewhat frightening in the beginning, she had quickly learned that she was safe here. The sound repeated and she wondered if it was some sort of animal that was making this noise. She got up and cautiously walked into the direction the sound had come from. Coming closer to a big bush the sound became louder, all of a sudden she smelled smoke and seconds later a blinding flash made her stumble backwards and fall down graciously on her bum. Temporarily blinded by the flash she tried to make out what was happening inside the bush, which was now blazing with fire. She shook her head and looked away from the light fro a minute. With a shock she realised that whatever animal was in that bush, it was now in danger of getting burned alive. Sweetcherrie quickly took of her shirt and started to smother the flames with it. Soon her shirt was nothing more but a black rag, but the fire seemed to be tamed. She took a closer look and saw a little brown bird sitting in the middle of the ashes. It was squeaking happily and it almost sounded as if it was screeching “mommy”. Egg shelves were lying next to the little bird and a mother bird was nowhere to be seen. The tale feathers of the brown bird were of a glowing red colour with blue, flaming tips at the ends. Big blue eyes were looking up at her, a glow of infantile trust was glowing within them and the little chick was clumsily trying to get up. Sweetcherrie’s heart melted when she saw the effort it took for the little bird to stand, and she moved forward to help it on its feet. The bird rubbed his head lovingly against her cheek, and flapped happily with the short wings. In its enthusiasm the bird knocked Sweetcherrie of her feet again, and stumbled in her arms. There it settled close to her, and with some joyous squeaks closed his eyes and fell asleep. Tenderly she placed her arms around him and got up from the floor, careful not to wake the little one up. She had no idea what to do next but decided that she would take him back to the Pen keep, and hopefully she would meet someone that could help her. Maybe some of the other pennites knew what sort of animal it was and what it ate, because he would probably wake up with an empty stomach. When she entered the Pen keep, she hesitated for a moment, Peredhil would probably know what to do with the bird, but she really didn’t want to disturb him at this late hour, and Gwaihir would probably also be able to help, but she didn’t know him too well. Sweetcherrie frowned and looked at the sleeping brown pile of fluff in her arms. It was an adoring sight, but she had no idea how to take care of it, and didn’t even know if it would still be this cute when it grew up.
  7. Appy hugged the ring even tighter when the lizard claimed it back, and when he stuck out a claw, she flashed her eyes and ran. She ran past Mynx and Tom, keeping her eyes tightly on the ring, chanting "Minemineshinymineshinyshinyminemine..." Unfortunately for her, she didn’t look where she was going and bumped straight into Venefyxatu. The two of them rolled over the floor like a multicoloured ball, and stopped when they hit a tree. Sweetcherrie ran over to the two of them and after making sure that the necromancer was ok, she stuck her hands in her pockets and held up two shining marbles. “These are Sweet’s, but I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if I gave them to you Appy……that is I would like to trade them against your other shiny, so what do you say, two for one?” Appy looked from her shiny to the two shining marbles in Sweetcherrie’s hand, and then stuck out the ring, and grabbed the marbles away. With her new treasure she sat down on the floor, and let the two marbles tumble over each other in her hand, as if they had magical powers. Sweetcherrie stepped up to Wyvern, “Here, but please don’t put it on any time soon.” She gave him the ring back, “You were in a right state, when you had it on, and I wouldn’t want anybody to get hurt.” Sweetcherrie walked over to the stereoplayer and put on some happy tunes, “Anybody feel like dancing?”
  8. It shouldn't be allowed to put angels in boxes. People sometimes seem to feel more comfortable when they can lock it all between certain boundaries, because that way they try to understand what they're dealing with. Not sure if that's what you meant, but that's how it felt.
  9. *bump* Wow... Now this feels like such a good piece to read. Already from the first line, I got dragged into this Jazzy nightclub. with the air thick of blue smoke. I felt myself standing there, all the faces aimed at me. The nerves of initital stagefright, and then giving over to what I'm supposed to do. This part reflects so well, the feelings you can have, straight after you've done something. And you know that the memories of what has happened will flood you over once you've taken a moments to sit down, and take it all in. I have no ideas of technicalities, but if I look at the feelings this piece gave me and how it swept me off my feet and dragged me into a different world, this is pretty darn good.
To the thoughts of long forgotten dreams Today I'm here Overtaken and caught up with By dreams that miss the power to come true Tomorrow does not yet exist Unreal and magically changed Into feelings that one can only hope for Past and present Interwoven and combined To a daydream that has crept closer Dream and reality Held together and scattered By yesterday and today that take away tomorrow's force Time and thoughts Intwined and surrounded By the feelings that claim my heart OOC: The Dutch part and the English part of my brain seemed to be disconnected while I tried to translate this so I hope it makes sense.
  11. ~Relationships~ Sweetcherrie normally gets along with practically everybody, but once you have managed to get on her wrong side (which will take an enormous effort but still) it is really hard to make it up to her again. She has found a young phoenix in the gardens of the penkeep, which she has called Troy. The bird sees her as his mommy and will follow her around like a little puppy most of the times. OOC: I'm currently working on how she found Troy and will post a link as soon as the story is finished.
  12. ~Personality~ She is genuinely interested in other people, and believes that each and every being is worth listening to, and worth of respect. She is generally a nice person to be with, but only as long as she is treated with the same respect as she gives to others. She has her own opinion and will actually stand up to fight for it, but most of the times she will choose words as her weapon. Sweetcherrie is one of the most curious people in the world and won’t shy away from asking anything that she wants to know. Most of the times she will try to find an answer first, but she’s also impatient, and when she can’t find the answer quick enough she’ll bug other people to get the answer. Sweetcherrie tries to be very organised, but something always happens to go wrong and most of the times she ends up trying to organise chaos.
  13. ~Physical Description~ She normally wears a dark blue suit, pumps, and wears her hair up. Her hair has the colour of a spring sun, and her eyes are blue-greyish. If she uses make-up, it’s only very lightly and always natural colours. She has a very elegant walk, but most people need to look twice before you notice that she has a natural beauty that glows from within.
  14. ~Items~ Sweetcherrie lives at the Pen keep, where she arrived with only a bag pack and her writing. If you walk into her room the first thing you notice is that there is an enormous machine standing against one of the walls. This is her age machine; she uses it to adjust her age when she feels like escaping reality. Most of the time she will turn it down a couple of years to avoid being held responsible for her actions, but sometimes she'll turn it up to match her feelings. She also has a suitcase, and carries around her laptop in there. Normally she has a stack of business cards in her inside pocket, but uses them scarcely. She has been given a gift by Gryphon during his QQ; a little golem which she has called Fix. Description of Fix can be found here. Edit: 08/06/2006 Sweetcherrie had gotten a puppy for her birthday, by now growing up to be a good companion. In front of her window, catching the sunlight, hangs a fire coloured ruby on a silver pendant. Both were gifts from Patrick. A cute and innocent kitten that somehow managed to evade Almost Dragonic Brand Experimentation normally sleeps on her pillow. A gift from Wyvern. Around her neck she wears a small pendant fashioned of silver, forming an intricately carved pen against a piece of parchment, given to her by Gyrfalcon. Fix has gotten a dark purple velvet playmate, but his little friend chants the same lines all day, and though they are dear to Sweetcherrie, Fix has already gotten bored with it (probably mainly because Fix doesn't speak). A gift from Laanders. A long wooden walking stick, the top of which was carved expertedly with various animals, with on top a flying pheonix looking quite like Troy, a gift from Apaltra stands close to the fireplace. On top of the fireplace stands a big wooden chest, which might've looked quite decent and formal once, but was now covered in colorful drawings and little paper flowers stuck to it everywhere. Given to her by Appy.
  15. ~Magical Abilities~ Sweetcherrie doesn’t do magic, except for maybe the way she can charm people with her own self. She does like magic, and is certainly not afraid of it, but prefers to do things the rational way. If she does magic it’s more likely that she does this by accident, or by fiddling with one of the newest gadgets, than because she wanted to do magic.
  16. ~Abilities~ The rational approach is always the best one. She has the ability to think logically, which can be an advantage when a problem needs solving, but has already proven a disadvantage when she tries to deal with emotions. She can be a superb manager, is very good at organising everything (except for maybe her own thoughts sometimes), and these qualities have already saved her a couple of times when she had overloaded herself with work, and had stringent deadlines. Her most dangerous ability might be the fact that she sometimes only has to look at technical equipment and it starts failing on her already. She seems to have a knack for confusing computers and even other people’s gadgets aren’t safe for her ability to confuse machines.
  17. ~History~ Sweetcherrie has been lost for a long time, and has had difficulties finding her goal in life. Over the years she has tried out several professions, and eventually came back to where she started: business. She is the example of the eternal student, and prefers to do this while travelling around the world. Sweetcherrie has seen a lot of countries, and would like to see even more. Through the course of live, she has also learned that it is best to enjoy every moment of the day, and her credo has become “Carpe Diem”
  18. ~Brief Description~ Sweetcherrie is one of those people that you would not give a second look if you walked past her on the street. She really wants to be this cool and calculating businesswoman, but fails to pass on this image. The main reason for this is that she is just too honest, but she can also be very clumsy which doesn’t help if you want to be a hardcore businesswoman. Nonetheless, she does know what she’s talking about, and if she doesn’t, she normally makes sure that she’ll learn it as fast as possible. If ever she has power, it is expert power, and she relies on knowledge and rational thinking to get through life.
  19. Sweetcherrie hurries over to see if Wyvern is all right, but the wild gestures of the scared almost dragon are enough to keep her at a safe distance. Appy jumps aside to avoid getting swept of her feet by the sweeping tail, and bumps into Sweetcherrie. Together they roll over the floor and almost knock over one of the tables. Sweetcherrie sticks her head out from under Appy and looks at Wyvern. The overgrown lizard is standing there with his nose in the air, wildly sniffing, as if it’s something in the air that’s doing this to him. Suddenly Sweetcherrie’s brain shifts into gear, “Appy we should try to find a way to get him out of this confounding scent, that’s probably what’s wrong.” Appy frowns, but suddenly her face lights up. She sticks her hands in her pockets and produces two corks. Sweetcherrie wonders where she gets them from so suddenly, but doesn’t think it's a good time to go into that. Appy hands her one of the corks, “You take the left?” Sweetcherrie nods, “On three? One …two…..three!” Both girls jump onto Wyvern and manage to plug a cork in each nostril, before he skaes them off. Sweetcherrie screams when something scratches past her face; a red stripe of blood is going from her eyebrow to her cheekbone. She looks what has caused the scratch and sees something blinking on Wyvern’s claw, “Appy does he normally wear rings?” Appy shakes her head in reply, and her eyes grow big when seeing the massive shiny on Wyvern's claw “Maybe we should get that ring of then?” she says, with a greedy look in her eyes, following the ring with every movement the almost dragon makes. “Yeah, but how?” Sweetcherrie says as she watches Wyvern, who still has a frightened look on his face. “Same tactics?” Appy asks, “you hold him while I take the ring?” “Why are you taking the ring? That’s the easy part,” at the same moment Wyvern yelps again, and Sweetcherrie hurries to agree with Appy, “one…two….three.” Sweetcherrie jumps forward and grabs the ring-bearing claw, while Appy fuddles with the ring. “Will you hurry up?” Sweetcherrie asks, panting from effort. The Almost Dragon is stronger than she had expected, and his hallucinated, scared state only seems to add to his strength. Sweetcherrie saw Mynx talking to the tiger she had helped earlier, “Uhh guys?” she called out to them, “little help?” Mynx hurries over and helps holding Wyvern still while Appy slides the ring off. “Got it, you can let go!” Appy, Sweetcherrie, and Mynx jump backward. Appy holds up the golden ring with shining silver stripes for a moment. “Mineminemine,” she mumbles, huddling the ring close to her, and looks as if she tries to find a place to hide her new shiny.
  20. *kickstarts her brain and sees that she turned around nr 2 and nr 5* Sorry, I should really organize my brain when doing things like this So if you would kindly see nr 2 as a single animal and nr 5 as a plural animal, then it would work out fine. *hides in shame*
  21. No idea how this one will work out, but I think it can be fun 1. a Pen member 2. animal 3. Verb that signifies moving 4. a Pen member 5. animal (plural) 6. verb 7. place 8. an event 9. verb 10. verb 11. noun 12. verb 13. adjective 14. noun
  22. Hmm..funny, I saw Chicago tonight as well and thought the same way, avoid it. The music is not bad, but the story can be told in 10 minutes and the film seems to take forever and ever and ever and ever.... I think the best part in the film was the whole idea of comparing an american court with a stage act. Although I've never seen a real american trial, in films and series they always make such a drama out of the whole court thing. The people they have casted for the different roles seem to be out of place, especially Richard Gere, then again I've never been his biggest fan, to me he always seems a bit bland.
  23. hehe, clumsy characters are sometimes the most fun to play. They give you an opportunity to think out of the box, and most of the times bring a smile to the other players. Mr. Achib el Assis Ibn Moussif El Rasjid certainly made me smile, thanks Sweet
  24. *still sits in the audience* Go Gryphon! Go!
  25. It seems that you're courageous enough to chose a path, and that's already worth a big round of applause. Because while it might feel secure to stand still where you are, in the end change is necesary to grow. The way you have left space between the lines makes the reader take his time to read every line as a separate item. This slowed down the reading, but at the same time made me more aware of what I was reading. and yeah, I did enjoy Sweet
