"Today is the first day of the rest of your life" Basically means that no matter how bad your life gets, you're always given another chance with a new day... ...Or something...

Choices What are the right ones to make? What I am told is right by you Or what I feel? In the end, who does it affect most? You'd think my choices are my own But I have to make you all happy, don't I Why is it so difficult to understand? I can make my own decisions I mean, it is my life, right? ... Right?

I like that Phoenix. Well written and it caught my attention. It's nice to see some of your work at last. *grins* I hope to see much more

"SQUEEEEEEEEEE!" Squealing happily, CheerMynx bounded through the Pen and directly into Cryptomancer, relieving his arm of Phoenix as the poor firebird is pulled into a patented(pending)-psychotic-CheerMynx-uber-crazed-tacklehug. " OhmygodyoucameyoufinallycameyayyayyaywehavetoshowyouaroundohmygodliketotallyMynx wantedtogreet youbutshe'scaughtupinsomethingtodowithbooksanddocumentsandIdon'tknowIcanneverrememberthesethings butohmygodliketotallywelcome!" Cryptomancer righted himself from the ground and watched the hyperactive feline, wondering on the best way to separate her from Phoenix before CheerMynx offered the respite; With a loud squeal, CheerMynx got her tail caught up in her legs and crashed to the ground, allowing Phoenix to leap out of the feline's death grip and back onto the Rune Mage's arm. Cryptomancer managed a rueful grin at his flustered avian friend. "Um, this one doesn't get out much..."

Every time I read this thread, I remember more and more people I need to write to. And every time I sit down to do so, I forget half the names. This is definitely a work in progress... But there is one name I need to write for right now... Sweetcherrie... *LICK* Even when you're down you still have that characteristic charm that is yours. Thanks for putting up with my sarcasm...It's easier than me trying to get rid of it. Even when I have absolutely no inspiration, simply talking to you gives me ideas, more often than not ideas that we can both use... Never underestimate yourself my friend. Your worth is beyond measure. Try to remember that for me? I know it is not always easy, but it is never not true. Always here when you need to talk...(Just use the Mynx symbol!...?) *hugs* ~Kitty

The October Mid-Site-Shift Birthday Massacre
Mynx replied to Wyvern's topic in Cabaret Room Archives
Happy birthday to all! -
Mynx began rapidly trying to wipe the blood off her fur...until she realised it had disappeared. She wondered briefly if it had all been in her head, but the stench of it still remained. Pulling her cloak about herself as she tried not to stare at the growing black on her body, Mynx glared at Tzimfemme as the naked mage leered back. "I have no idea where we are," Mynx stated slowly, "but I am getting sick to death of the mind games." Looking around at the circle of faces with various expressions, Mynx went on. "I don't know if it's just me, but this place is calling up a lot of past memories -" Mynx held out her now utterly black forearm for others to see as her own grey eyes pondered it before she pulled it back in. Tanny nodded. "This place is definitely reacting to something...I just wish I knew exactly what..." "Well I know for me it's reacting to my fears...so I'm going to see if it will react to my desires." Mynx was met with shocked expressions. "You're going to try and open another gate?" Patham queried. "After the last time -" "I'm not going to open a gate. I'm...going to wish for one. I don't expect any of you to help me, this was my idea so I will take the fall." Standing up, Mynx moved to one side and sat back down again, her back to the Pennites. "I don't know what to expect...so maybe you should be ready to run in case this goes badly..." Before anyone could say anything, Mynx turned her back and hunched down into a meditation position. Closing her eyes, the feline focused on a mental image of her partner and made a silent plea... Take me to him... She felt a...rip...in front of her. She opened her eyes to something that looked like a gate, but didn't feel like one...and it was failing. Without giving herself time to think about what she was doing, Mynx leapt forward into the dark hole, leaving the remaining Pennites to stare at the rip as it flickered unstabily, threatening to close... ...Gryphon felt a draft of new air above his head and looked up just in time to see a...rip in the cavern ceiling. Before he could react, a very familiar feline figure fell through the hole and landed with a yelp on top of the winged guild leader...

The voice continued to pester Mynx... Why did you ever give up? You were doing so well for yourself -That's not who I am anymore- Mynx thought to herself angrily Oh, but it could be. So very easily. You were unbeatable! Never known to fail a task...Even that child... "Shut up!" Mynx snarled out loud, temporarily silencing the voice. Breathing heavily, she opened her eyes to the clearing mist around her. Immediately in front of the feline stood a small child clutching a teddy bear. Mynx's breath caught in her throat as she recognised the blue eyes staring at her. "Why did you do it?" the childlike voice asked her innocently. "It was a job," Mynx murmered, almost in a trance as something began to tick over in her mind. "You didn't even know me. Why did you kill me?" "I didn't kill you -" "You didn't, but she did. And she is you." "Not anymore," Mynx snarled. "You're lying to yourself." "And you don't exist!" As if breaking a spell with those words, the child disappeared with a flash, leaving Mynx to stare at the place she had stood as a slow realisation took place...

Happy Birthday my friend. *lick*

Mynx looked around at the fog in confusion and worry. Her senses were letting off all kinds of alarm bells but she didn't know what they were trying to tell her. Her ears pricked when she heard Patham call out, and she replied immediately... But then...nothing. As the fog grew thicker around Mynx, Tanny, Vincent and Stephen, the feline continued to call for Patham. After a few moments, she couldn't hear a thing, like the fog had deafened her. She tried to look around at her companions and found that she couldn't even do that; it was like sitting in a world of grey... As Mynx looked around in the world of nothing, she reached out to try and feel someone next to her. Before her arm was even half stretched, she heard that familiar voice once more in her head... Well hello hello Kitty. My you have changed... "Go away," Mynx closed her eyes and whispered to herself. "You are my past. Not present nor future." You cannot ignore your past, cat. You cannot leave it behind. So why not embrace it once more? You could do so well... As the black slowly crept further up Mynx's arms, she closed her eyes and began a silent chant in an effort to ignore the voice, completely unaware that the fog around her was starting to clear...

Trembling in shock, Mynx fought against the voices in her head as she sensed a battle occuring...she thought. Glimpsing what she assumed to be Tanny, Mynx dragged herself upright and began to slowly follow the wolf. By the time she caught up, Tanny was working at healing Vincent and Stephen had just stepped out from behind a building. Mynx cautiously looked around. Half of her senses insisted there had been a battle but the other (more logical half) was proving that there wasn't. But then, why did Vincent need healing? "What...happened?" Mynx rasped in a voice she didn't recognise, causing everyone to jerk and turn to her in shock before they recognised the form if not the voice. "I honestly don't know," Tanny began after she finished the healing spell. She sat back on her heels to give Vincent space to sit up, and twisted so she could look at both Mynx and Stephen as she spoke. "I saw...things...not exactly nice either. I think this realm is affecting...or being affected by our thoughts..." Tanny trailed off suddenly and gave Mynx a quizzical look. "What's up with your paws?" Mynx glanced down to see that the black had spread to about halfway up her forearms. Swallowing uneasily, she pulled the sleeves of her robe down over them. "It's nothing. I just...had a bit of a flashback..." Quickly changing the subject, Mynx looked around the township they seemed to be in, noticing just how devoid it was of people. "So...is there anyone else here?"

*dies laughing* Brilliant! I loved it!

Mynx tried to stand up and failed, staggering to her knees and retching as the aftereffects of the spell hit her body full force. She had completely lost track of her scythe but that was the last of her worries at the moment. Unable to stop the soft whimper of pain that escaped her lips, Mynx tried to search the plane she was on, the bright light against her eyes creating only fuzzy shapes that were taking longer than she preferred to adjust. Seeing two figures that Mynx thought to be Tanny and Stephen, Mynx gingerly rose up to her hind paws and began slowly walking to them. She had about halved the distance between them when a blinding pain hit her again, driving her to the ground as she clutched her head in pain. She was vaguely aware of someone talking to her...Tanny? but she was too preoccupied with the voice in her head...a voice she had not heard in years... "No!" Mynx whispered in horror. "No. It can't be..." Trying to drown out the voices, Mynx whimpered and curled up into a ball... It was only then that she noticed that her tail was slowly turning black. Mynx let out a feral scream...

Mynx tried once more to sense Gryphon's scent but gave up and shook her head. "There's too much magic...it's blended too easily with Gryphon's scent...I can tell you he's been here, but for all I know he's in Africa right now." Mynx turned her attention back to Tanny. "Do you think more magic will help the link?" Tanuchan thought about it before nodding slowly. "We got a link when we were just using the items to augment the magic, but I think if we put more energy into establishing the contact, we might be able to get more than a weak link. If we can find out what Gryphon and Sweetcherrie did, then perhaps we'll be able to find how to save them!" Mynx pondered this for a moment, eyes clouded in thought. Although for her there was no real question. "Do it," she nodded to Tanny. "I'll put as much of my power into the tiara as possible and hopefully our strength will establish a link." Mynx paused and looked around at the gathered Pennites. "This...is going to be draining on me. You may want to give me some space just in case I...stumble..." Patham stepped forward and smiled kindly at Mynx. "I'll support you, make sure you don't fall on anyone." Mynx smiled and bowed her head in thanks before looking at Tanny. "Just give me a few moments to prepare, then we can go for gold..." Tanny nodded and began to do the same as the remaining Pennites looked at each other and wondered what was to happen...

Happy Birthday!
-
Mynx sat with her eyes closed in concentration, a slight frown creasing her feline features as she struggled to maintain the contact with Gryphon. After the contact broke, she remained still for a few moments more, trying to reestablish the link. Eventually, with a low growl of annoyance, Mynx opened her eyes and got to her paws, nodding to the Pennites who had recently joined the little group before she reached a paw down to help Tanny up. "I reached him. They're alright, so to speak. I couldn't sense any immediate danger to them but they don't know where they are. I kept the link as long as I could but I could tell it was straining Gryphon as much as it was straining me. I can try and keep the magic as strong as possible, but I won't last long if all of my energy goes into what may be a lost cause. It looks like we are going to have to do this the hard way." Raising a paw, Mynx extended a claw and proceded to cut a hole in the air, creating a gate to a black dimension. Reaching in, Mynx retrieved her scythe, checking the dark blade with her eye before she closed the gate and turned her attention back to the group. "So, we have two missing Guild Leaders, no clue where they are, and so far the closest thing we've been able to get tells us that they know just as much as we. Any suggestions?"
-
Mynx raced through the corridors, skidding on corners as she tried desperately to contact Gryphon through her tiara, cursing silently in every language she knew as she took yet another turn, no real clue as to where she was heading. She saw Tanny standing at what appeared to be a door. Precisely one second before she realised there was no traction on the ground to stop. Digging her claws in anyway (sadly to no avail), Mynx let out a meow of surprise as she collided with her lupine friend in a tangle of tails and fur. As they untangled themselves, Mynx was the first to speak. "Tanny do you know what's happened? I...I...something happened to Gryphon and Sweet but I don't know and I can't sense him and..." Tanny blinked a few times before letting out a sharp bark to silence the unusually paniced feline. ::Slow down Mynx! I heard the message too:: Tanny paused and tilted her head. ::Sense him? I thought you could only receive mindspeak?:: Mynx nodded. "I can. But I have this -" she removed the tiara from her head and showed it to Tanny before continuing. "Since Gryphon gave that to me I've always had an empathic and telepathic connection with him but...it's gone. I got the message from Sweet through him I think but now...I can't sense anything!" For once at a complete loss for words, Mynx stared down at her friend, eyes clearly showing worry as she silently asked what they were to do
