As soon as Mynx storms in, screaming in rage, Tanny automatically shimmers into her wolf form, turning incredibly fast to face the enemy with fangs ready to tear the danger away. And she blinks as Mynx conjures and attacks her own minions. What the... She silently looks for a clearer patch in the Cabaret Room, still paying close attention to the carnage, letting wolf senses scan the room and shapechanger senses look for more signs of magic. Tanny shakes herself as Mynx apologizes and, when she moves out into the night after meeting Peredhil, pads not very softly to her - making enough noise so she can listen and turn to see her. Never be too careful around a mage... Mynx stares as the black wolf nudges her hand, then raises to rest one paw delicately on her chest while licking her face softly. Grey eyes look into hers, and suddenly she finds herself being hugged by a black-haired woman. Scream and scythe away all you need, Mynx. But don't let Ex's completely ruin your day... *huge hugs* We care ~Tanny

Amanda pales visibly, scenes of years ago coming back to her mind. The Oregon Trail, claiming lives... jumbling her own life until she didn't know what to do with her mind... the last shootout, Cartwright's family lost forever, her first husband dying in her arms. Her tears, for a life of relative innocense that she lost on that caravan. Her broken heart, who needed to survive the horrors of murders to be able to be happy again. She hears dimly a voice calling Elisabeth, then another, familiar voice... Markus? She looks sharply at her husband, who leans towards the British lady with a worried look, not having noticed yet his wife's presence. Serena grabs Amanda's arm, calling her attention to the coyote and the Japanese lord's words. "A coyote... a wild animal... " mutters Amanda, frowning. Experience tells her that it could be possible... but would it be that obvious? Markus... please, I need you... not again, not again... OOC: no accusation yet

MODDING POST (Please read the OOC thread - I mean, the sign-up post) The party goes on, guests starting to find friends or make new acquaintances. Wetherby, overseeing the waiters and also the kitchen, nods in approval observing the guests talking and mingling. Lord Kinjiru will be satisfied. Everything is running smoothly. This party will be... A loud, piercing scream interrupts Wetherby's musing, and as everybody turns a young maid enters in tears. "He's dead... dead... God help us..." Wetherby instantly grabs the girl, making her sit down and silencing her. "What are you talking about, Brenda?" hisses him, annoyed. "Who's..." "That guy... Mr. Milhouse!" Brenda screams, panicked, and no amount of soothing from Wetherby makes her lower her voice. "I was going to clean the restroom... he's there... sprawled... blood... oh, blood everywhere..." There's a sudden silence in the room. Loud steps are heard, and Wetherby raises his head to meet Kinjiru's eyes. The ninja lord glares around the room, his voice hard. "I am sorry for this unfortunate interruption. But Mr. Albert Milhouse has been found dead... his throat has been slashed open. As all doors to this house have been locked at 6 o'clock, I'm afraid that I have to look for the assassin among you." An imperious gesture cuts the protests. "I'm honor-bound to protect my guests. One of them has been killed. The house is locked and will remain so until the murderer has been found. The party will continue, and you are still my honored guests... however, I will ask that nobody tries to leave." OOC It's day phase. You have 48 hours from this time stamp to accuse and try to find the murderer. If there's any doubt, please PM me until MTYFoolish is able to reassume the modding of the game

*Ahem* *looks around quite fidgety* As MTYFoolish has been absent for a while, Salinye asked me if it would be possible to keep the game going so we wouldn't lose moment... So, I'm temporarily assuming a partial modding of the game and posting the NPC kill. I have no idea of the special roles, and so Amanda will still be part of the game, and can be accused if you want to do so. If I need to actually post the lynching, I'll be back to you. But hopefully by then MTYFoolish will be able to reassume the modding. And... *hugs dragonqueen* Don't worry We hope you can be back for next game! ~Tanny

Amanda giggles softly, and nods. "I don't think I need to keep an eye on our bank account, as Markus is pretty able to do it sensibly... but I would like to support him." I just hope he doesn't mind... I usually leave him with his friends when they're playing. "I suppose you do know how to play?" asks Serena "I know the rules, as my husband explained them to me and even played with my sister and I... but he was really humoring us both, as we are terrible players." She smiles at her memories. "I can bluff nicely but I have terrible luck with the cards... while Markus can see through any bluff of mine." They walk towards the poker table, talking quietly. "And... forgive me for asking, but why a school reunion would terrify you?"

A black wolf trots in the corridors of the Pen Castle, sniffing curiously here and there. There sure is a lot of hidden places around here... well, not hidden, but not easily seen at first... Using wolf senses to explore has always pleased Tanny, and as by this time more people are used to see her around the fortress and its surrounding area, she uses it freely without being too afraid of scaring friends. So, today she again chooses some random hall and follows one of the corridors opening into it. Light enters through the windows, their curtains draped open and arranged in a pleasant way. Tanny observes for a moment the curious patterns of light playing with the shadows, her eyes unfocusing a bit. Playing with forgotten shadows Bright rays trace a pattern of life Motes of light fly with the dust Dark spots shrink quietly away A timid beam reaches a corner Tickling playfully the shadows asleep Awakening dreams buried long Bringing laughter to silent places. She blinks, taking some mental notes. This may be interesting... I should work on this a bit, I guess. But later. I want to know where this corridor will take me. Doors appear on both sides, some open and some ajar, and voices come carrying laughter, enthusiasm, or sometimes sweet melancholy. Some of the voices the wolf recognizes, some not, but still she goes on - following now a subtle scent that's completely new. Soon she stops in front of a door, and sees a neatly carved sign on it. Carefully rising on her hind legs and resting a paw on the door, she reads: Tanny sits down, considering carefully what she has read. It does seem interesting... at least, fun. I wonder if she can predict so easily the future of a Shapechanger... She grins, a glint of michief appearing for a second in her light-grey eyes. After all, there are people who say that each of our shapes hold a different soul... I would, then, be made of three different souls... Not very late that day, Tanny appears at the Cabaret Room in her human form. Inquiring quietly about, soon she meets Salinye - who tells her everything about the incredible Madame Quixotic and directs her to the sign-up parchment. Nodding, Tanny signs up her name below the last scrawl.

Ooops... Mm... okay... Later on I'll edit this post

Tanny carefully decorates the room with flags and pennants of great fighters of all times, tastefully matching the colors and patterns so that they don't clash. Then, she checks if the birthday cake is in a lower table than the normal, and also if the Dwarven Ale she ordered is cool and easy at hand. Next to it, there's a cart with other beverages to fit everybody's tastes. Nodding to herself, she prepares to leave then hesitates for a second, a last thought crossing her mind. She produces from her pocket a small flask, on which a label reads "Use when going out with Stinky Dwarves". I hope this works as the mage said... Smiling, she sprays the magic deodorant around the room. Then, she shimmers into her wolf shape, sniffing delicately the air to be sure nothing is amiss. Silently she trots out of the room with a smile. Happy Birthday, Gnarly! May all the tournaments give you valuable prizes *hugs* ~Tanny :wizzie:

"I'm...I'm Serena Nightingale. You probably don't recognize me without my headgear and glasses. I was the school newspaper and year book editor." Amanda cocks her head slightly, a bit puzzed. "Oh... yes, maybe... though I really don't think I know what you're talking about... " She laughs softly, smiling again. "But you must be proud of your work, Serena. It looks like you are a known person, so why being in doubt about coming here? I think Markus and I have less reason to have been invited than you." And no need to drink to have the courage to come, as it seems to be your case... that mynx of sister I have would have done that for the fun of it, but you don't look like one to do that for fun. Markus catches Amanda's eye before she can comment anything else to Serena, and she nods and smiles to him. "Markus does like poker... " murmurs her, shaking her head lightly. "Don't you trust him to win, Amanda?" asks Shana, following him with her eyes. "Oh, I do, Shana... but this is a new place with new players. I'm not used to them as I am to his friends." She turns to both girls. "Serena, this is Shana... we have just meet also, and we were thinking of strolling around a bit. Would you like to join us?" Well, what am I doing now? I'm back to being my father's daughter, making sure people I don't know feel comfortable in one of his dancing parties... She gets a bit distracted by memories, and loses the next few lines of conversation between Shana and Serena. Then, she notices them waiting for some answer from her. "Oh... no, we live in a ranch in Oregon... it's quite a wild place, I fear."
-
Amanda passes by the slightly unsteady young woman heading to the door, and automatically reaches out a hand when she stumbles, holding her arm. "Are you feeling well?" Her look is gentle, but with a hint of repproach at noticing Serena has obviously drunk more than the advisable.
-
"Shana... it's a pretty name. And please, forgive me if I eventually forget it; I'm not really good with names at first, though I never forget a face." She flushes a bit more. "I'm really glad to know that I'm not the only one who has no idea of the purpose of this party... you see, we got the invitation and Markus and I thought that it could be fun. But we really expected to meet some of our old friends here." Amanda again looks around her, frowning slightly. "I would like to walk around just a bit... maybe you'd like to come also? I see also my husband over there."
-
Amanda smiles as he notices the young man who bumped into her apparently finding a known person. She observes the room for some minutes, and then turns back to Shana. "There are many people here that seem not to have acquaintances... I guess I'm lucky to be here with my husband. And you... sorry, I guess I don't know your name?" Amanda blushes slightly, betraying a bit of embarassment. It's been too long... I don't feel comfortable at meeting completely new people, it seems. Where is Markus, anyway?
-
While approaching the table, Amanda inadvertently bumps into Shana, who looks at her startled. "I'm sorry... I was distracted." She smiles at the young woman, noticing her hesitation. "You seem to be alone... maybe we could make company to each other? My name's Amanda Black." She smiles, friendly. There's a feathery brush into her arm, and as she turns Walter apologizes, coloring slightly. "No need for apologies... I myself feel somewhat clumsy here. " She shakes her head softly, feeling a bit embarassed.
-
Minutes before the clock strikes six, a coach stops in front of the doors. A tall man dressed in black gets off, lending his hand to help his wife out. Wearing a blue long dress, tastefully embroidered with silver flowers (loving work of her sister Rosalie), Amanda smiles sweetly at her husband. "Thanks, Markus. You're always so gentle." He kisses her forehead softly, pushing back the always rebelious strands of black hair that insist on falling over her face. Soon both are signing the paper by the door under Wetherby's attentive stare. "No one we know. I'm so in need of fun... it's been long since we have gone to a party, and all those small problems at the ranch that we have to deal with..." "And you deal with them perfectly, Amanda. Now, let's see what we have here?" She nods, both entering the room. There are some people already talking in small groups, but they notice some who are also examining the surrounds. By the table with the beverages, there's a very well-dressed British woman and, at her side, a samurai-dressed Japanese man who seems quite suspicious of his surroundings. Nearby, some random young people, and a young woman a bit to the side. Talking softly to his wife, Markus directs her towards the table.

Wolves tend to be a bit clumsy with swords, but I think I'll risk being there also... in human form, don't worry! lol

Hmm... will Gyr accept the company of a shapechanging (wolf/tanuki) girl? Great work, Yui-chan! *hugs*

*hugs* We love you, Sal If you need to rant, we are here for you. *rubs your shoulders gently*

But I think this doesn't mean that the character can't *believe* he's dead... Lord Washima may have suffered grievous wounds and been given as dead, but miraculously recovered. And the shock of finding himself alive could have made him just go on thinking he's in afterlife... what do you think, Vahk?

Contest, contest, contest, contest, contest...
Tanuchan replied to Katzaniel's topic in Cabaret Room Archives
I started a poem for this contest, but as it took a life in itself I posted it at the Banquet Room. Dreamless night I hope that fits also for this contest? ~Tanny Edit: the poem can be found here. -
Well, I decided to work a bit on my first attempt above, and this is the final result. A wolf works, wondering within, Fighting to find finicky phrases Solitary sounds superbly stubborn Rise and fall, angrily avoiding A glorious gathering in gleeful groups. Thinking - thunderous thoughts on a thrilling theme Chasing - chokingly challenging choice sounds The wolf starts, stops, stretches and stomps Reflecting madly, musing on the matter. How telling, tempting, temerary, tempestuous can be Working to have at last literally lousy, lazy lines That could be called, contemptuously by critics, Alliteration of sorts, silliness for sure Foolish maybe, hopefully fit, but fun anyways. ~Tanny

MTYF, I think Celes is thinking just as a general setting, allowing to merge animated and human characters. Though we don't know for sure if Dragonqueen and Eyremon will play Pepe le Pew and Wile E. Coyote. Another suggestion, if you want to consider it, would be having the animated characters have the appearance of normal animals to the eyes of the humans (then, they wouldn't understando their talk - it could be fun to RP that situation). This one may leave more flexibility for you to work the setting and the background story, now that I'm thinking about it. Anyway, whatever you think will be great! When are we starting? ~Tanny

Hi everybody Well, now it's my turn to do a Quill Quest... My idea is to write short descriptive poems about members of the Pen. Basically, I'll be collecting the information I need through posts and then I'll be PMing some of you, asking for complementary information. However, I'd really like to have your participation as well! So, if you want to be in, this is what I'm asking: * nominate members of the Pen (other than yourself) to have poems written about. If possible, describe them to me (so I can have information from a point of view other than the nominee's own), or send me links to posts you think represent them well. You don't need to describe them, but it would be nice if you can. * give your description of the nominees, or point out representative links, even if you didn't nominate them; it will be interesting to have other people's point of view. If you prefer, you can PM those to me, so it would be a surprise * if you want, you can also write a (short) poem about any member and PM it to me; though, I would ask not to do them for all of the nominees, since this is my task I hope I managed to make myself clear. In short, this is how you can participate: * nominating members (in this thread) * giving members' descriptions or representative links (in this thread or PM) * writing a short poem yourself (PM me) I'm not sure how long this will take, as it depends on my Muse's good will, but I hope not having to make you wait too long. Thanks to you all! *hugs* ~Tanny Edit:On another note, I know Dragonqueen's Quill Quest is similar to this, so I guess we'll be having quite a number of "Poetic Descriptions"
