  1. Always around, loooking for the need that hides behind the words and the smiles: hugs and huggles, knowing that Touch helps to heal and soothes the pain. Listening and nodding, understanding the shadows, lends his shoulders to soak the tears (Blessed water-proof Peredhil!) Hunts for darkness with zealous resolution chases away the cause for pain.
  2. Gryph, I wanted to tell you that I'm enjoying very much reading about the making of your gifts, and that each one is really unique and fits well their new owner! Congratulations on your hard work, and I hope to see the end of your QQ without having to witness any major collapse of the Artisan!! You're doing really, really well. *hugs*
  3. He finds every bit of positive things in a person, even when they feel utterly worthless. And makes me blush as no one else... but I'm not sure if this is a real good thing And (although this has been mentioned before) he will be blushing on reading this thread again
  4. Tanny peeked out from her window, wondering at the new sign. Why is Gwaihir out in the rain to hang out a sign? She blinks, looking at the words that don't make any sense to her. The only word she can understand is "Mynx", and she stares at it thinking hard, while muttering to herself the words that sound so like a sleepy cat. "Oh...!" She grins, finally relating her friend's name to the only thing involving her that could grant that sign in cat, in the middle of the courtyard. She leaves her rooms to seek Mynx, running into her in one of the corridors near the Assembly Room. Mynx turns in surprise, unable to avoid a tacklehug given by a wolf jumping right into her arms. "Heeeey....!" She stumbles, trying to keep her balance while holding an armful of wolf against her. "Tanny! What..." Laughing, Tanny goes back to her human form and grins, hugging her. "Mynx, there's a big sign in something that sounds like cat-language... I have no idea what's really written, but I guess that you got a new rank! Congratulations!!"
  5. Actually, Katz, you commented my comments thorugh IM I'll have to re-read everything, but I do remember I wanted to know where your story was going. I'll let you know if I have any comment ~Tanny
  6. Then the second one came in, as silent and quiet as a wish can be; it whispered in my ears a purpose and a quest and asked my help in words and thoughts. "The eldest, the first, is gone now drifting in the breeze that sweeps and takes free at last to go where it wants harmless and fading from hearts and minds. Now I come - listen to me and give me life." So it was that the wishes were changed, the first frayed and blown far away by the love that dwells forever in my heart: the wish for darkness fading away taken by the breeze of laughter and life. The second takes root and grows as strong: the wish for happiness, for color and light, the purpose achieved of making me smile the quest proposed of burying all shadows. ~~~~~~~~ New line: When Time comes and touches your life
  7. I haven't voted yet... I want to take a quick look in the Abyssals first. But it would be either Solar or Abyssals for me
  8. Yay! Topic: the effects of moonlight reflecting at different angles on a still lake in the middle of the forest *hugs* Thanks, Cryp!! ~Tanny
  9. I'd like to try ... though I've never played Exalted before. You've been warned! ~Tanny
  10. The wolf sits in front of the parchment, intent on reading the details of this new Quill Quest - having been careful to not let any other QQ announcements escape after missing Cryp's... This looks really interesting... specially considering how nice it was to share some magic with Gryphon during the Halloween'04 Party (a.k.a. Werewolf XIII - Halloween ) Sign me up, please!!! ~Tanny
  11. Erk... somehow I missed this... But good luck, Cryp! I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your Quill Quest!! *hugs* ~Tanny
  12. Congrats - the promotions are well deserved
  13. Hey, nice links, Tzim!! Thanks! I'm getting more and more curious about Exalted... I'd like to try it. Which one would you guys play? (Of course, I'm still up to any of the others )
  14. Projected over the pedestal, now empty... just the shimmering forms of a wolf/tanuki/human changing in rapid succession... Thanks, all of you... *hugs all* Now, if you excuse me, I'll go back to my lurking - as expected of any good wolfie... The image blinks and fades, leaving behind just a couple of black strands of hair/fur on the cushioned pedestal.
  15. I'm just horrible at Vampire, but I can try it... and Exalted and Rift seem cool also. As Demon... Mage... Orpheus... ... Erm... truly told, the only ones I wouldn't risk playing would be Discworld (no idea of setting), BESM (not enough knowledge of any anime stuff), and d20 modern (not my kind of setting, sorry). DnD is the only thing I know enough of the rules to play without any trouble at all... and I suppose I remember enough d10 from a failed attempt at Vampire Is the play as Falcon was planning, or online using IRC or some RPG client?
  16. Just as a clarification: our story had already been written when we found out that the phrases had to be sentences in themselves. We thought it wouldn't fit the flow of our story, which we really liked... so I asked to be out of it because I didn't want to break the flow. The idea was great, and I wish I knew beforehand that the phrase was a whole sentence. But Akallabeth also had guessed ours before I posted the idea at the end of our tale, so it's not really difficult to find the sentences. Have fun! ~Tanny
  17. The swamp seemed darker than normal, like evil brooding over his next meddling on human affairs. A shadow came, flitting from tree to tree like the insects that clung to branches looking for a meal. A furry snake hissed at the shadows, tasting the air with its forked tongue. The shadow stopped suddenly, sinking up to his knees in the muddy waters. Hands searched frantically under the tree roots, and a sensitive nose begins to twitch when he is close to his prize. "A *sniff* ha!" said the palaeontologist, who happened to be very geeky, trying to keep himself from crying. "I found *sniff* what I've been *sniff* looking for, all *sniff* these years." The nerdy palaeontologist struggled not to weep as he bent over to pick up the fabled Onion of Eb'zez, one of the sacred artifacts from the native peoples in this land, out of it's swampy resting place. He turned around in time to see eight furry snakes slither across his lunch. "Hey, that's my cheese and mud sandwich!" the dorky palaeontologist shouted at the serpents as he ran towards them with a stick. "Get away from it!" He began swinging the stick wildly at the snakes, trying to keep them away from his sandwich. Instead of that, however, all he managed to do was impale the sandwich on the stick. The snakes came closer and closer, and the geeky palaeontologist ran back to his truck to yell for help on the radio. Unfortunately, as he's babbling his plight on the radio, one of the furry snakes slithers up his leg. Panicked, the palaeontologist lets the prized onion fall. He looks in horror as a dozen other furry snakes appear and dive after the onion, and his last sight before fainting is his precious Onion of Eb'zez being swallowed whole. ~~~~~~~ This small story was written around the phrase "The nerdy palaeontologist struggled not to weep", suggested to us by Sweetcherrie and Appy. Thanks for the inspiration
  18. Well... trying then a Portuguese version... Original English The birds happily welcomed spring, Their voice carried even into my room. Weakly lying on my sickbed, I too watched spring succeeding winter. I knew, that it would last until summer. But then I shall not be here anymore. Translating Portuguese back into English.... The birds greeted Spring happily their voices came even to my room. Lying down weakly in my sickbed I also watched Spring suceeding Winter I knew it would last until Summer But then, I won't be here anymore.
  19. Ah! 12. A spear pear
  20. Hmm... 3. A merry berry (though there are many kinds of berry, so I don't know if this one counts...) 10. A tango mango (Edit: added #3)
  21. Tanny finally meets Ayshela while deciding whether to enter and give a hand in the clean up. With a happy and embarassed smile, she hugs her Valentine. "I'm sorry for not meeting you before, 'shela... after talking a bit to Venefyxatu, a little friend of mine came with a message and I had to leave for a while... " She nods at a small sapling, whose branches move in a farewell. Ayshela smiles in wonder and waves at the small tree. "Tanny, that is a Treant... they aren't from this plane..." "I've had some adventuring, 'shela..." She fishes a package from a well-hidden pocket in her dress. "I've been in some different places, and met some different beings. And sometimes, I've also had chance to work on some different material. This is the result of one such adventure... I hope you like it." Opening the package, Ayshela finds a delicate brooch. The lacework of finely woven silvery threads supports a clear globe of crystal not an inch in diameter. Examining it closely, she identifies a tiny bouquet of flowers. "White freesias and lavender grape hyacinth... or the shapes that they assumed in my weaving." Tanny smiles. "It will always remind you of a cool morning breeze, soothing and calming; and when you're feeling lonely or in need of support, it will also bring the love from every person whose heart you have touched. For that is the meaning of the weaving inside the flowers." ~~~~~~~~ OOC: Sorry, I really had problems developing my ideas... there will be a short story at Assembly about this brooch - hopefully soon. Happy belated Valentine, 'shela *hugs*
  22. Mynx has offered, and I sent her a PM... I believe she'll post the sign up soon.
  23. Guess I got carried away also... Name: Owly Thokkath Concept: Mercenary Sorcerer Race: half-orc Gender: Male Eyes: Hazel Hair: Black Height: 6' 10" Weight: 240 Bio: Denyla Greeneyes was a human druidess who cared more for the forest than the humans in her small village. Living in an isolated hut, she was once surrounded by wargs in killing frenzy. An Orc came in suddenly and saved her life, and since then Denyla was in absolute, passionate love with him. The truth is that Thokk (the Orc) saved Denyla by accident while he was setting a trap for other purposes, not caring at all about the wargs and the silly human druidess. As much as he tried, Thokk couldn't get rid of Denyla, who followed him everywhere and tried to make his life comfortable at all costs. Finally, Thokk figured that if he left her a child, she would find someone else to care for. Indeed, as soon as Owlie was born Thokk found himself quite forgotten, and disappeared swearing to put a ban on all the forest around that village and Denyla's hut. Denyla had an owl familiar, and called her son Owly when his first cry sounded like the hooting of an owl. Owly grew up without knowing his father was an orc, and even the children of the village never suspected that. It was only when the orcish features and temperament became more apparent, on his adolescence, that the village Headmaster realized he was a half-orc. Owly first got interested in magic when he was a child and a troupe of illusionists came to the village. After that, he insisted on learning all he could about his mother's magic, and together they discovered that there was some magic deep inside him. In the first opportunity, he convinced a wandering sorcerer to teach him. Unfortunately, he's not bright enough to learn the most powerful spells, but he has learned to use what he knows and the wisdom that came from her mother to succed in an adventurous career as a merc sorcerer. Owly loves the Nature, a trait he got from his mother - he's unable to kill or mistreat any plant or animal unless it's unavoidable. He's boisterous, loud, and short-tempered, loving a good fight or bar brawl. He also loves singing, but unfortunately he's absolutely tone-deaf, and also deaf to the critiques and pleas to stop singing.
  24. I'll be submitting a character, Falcon... probably later today or tomorrow. Sounds fun ~Tanny
  25. A wolf peeks in, grinning. Count me in... I promise this time I'll actually participate. Suddenly embarassed, she leaves quickly to try to finish her Valentine to Ayshela...
