OOC for WWXXXIII - Vampire: Wolf Masquerade
Tanuchan replied to Patrick's topic in Conservatory Archives
ooopsie... Thanks a lot for your intention Gryph! One day we'll be both in the same side... Of course, unless we are both wolves, we'll end up lynching each other As a heads-up - the closing post will come... but both Finn and Mith are busy until the weekend, and we need them. So please... a bit of patience . -
OOC for WWXXXIII - Vampire: Wolf Masquerade
Tanuchan replied to Patrick's topic in Conservatory Archives
We're working on a post that closes the game - just getting hold of four people (Mith included, to close his "lynching") isn't that easy . But it should be up sometime tonight! -
Hmm... once I ruled that wolf would be stronger, but I really wasn't too happy with the situation. I guess that the fairest result would be a stalemate.... and maybe there is no winner, or a compromise is made to at least close the story. Depending on the WW theme, that might even give more chance to RP... On a more practical topic - Pat's game is almost ending, so I'd like to know if Savage Dragon is ready to mod his game . If you are, please just open a sign up!

Lilah turned to the Giovanni, raising an eyebrow. Francis just smiled to both of them, and she turned to Osidian. Their long association came to her mind, and she recalled some of the contracts. Protection in one way or another, perfect for an Assamite Assassin. Then it struck her - what Francis said that was nagging at her mind. "I think your hands are darker with blood than mine, and that's the way you like it.". Dark hands. Black Hands. She faced Osidian. Would he be one of them?

The night was chill, and Lilah felt the soft breeze in her arms. She looked at the waning moon, but a couple days from full. She didn't feel hungry, and her steps seemed without purpose as her feet took her in the direction of the garden. The night flowers made her smile, memories from long past peeking from around old corners in her mind. I remember this scent... odd how they come to me now. The girl who had been Lilah Lestrand looked at the night through the eyes of the vampire. Old mischief was there, for a moment remembering nights spent roaming the streets leading away from the boarding school, remembering the strange and fascinating night creatures she had met. The face of her Sire appeared, and her smile wavered - she still couldn't say whether she was thrilled or afraid at the moment of the Embrace. But she knew, as she had known them, that the night call had been always strong in her. And not only metaphorically - the night, the lure of mystery, had always been around her since she remembered life. Or unlife. She turned yet another corner, passed a gate, took a twisting path through bushes and low trees, and finally emerged at the Vylenard gardens. Her heightened senses told her there were Kindred in there, and a second later she knew they were Francis and Osidian. And they were fighting. Francis? I knew Osidian would be here, but what is that Malk doing here? Attacking an Assamite? She could see the shadowy figures, and it was over before she could even think of rushing in aid. But... aiding who? I've known them both for long, worked with them both, talked to them both. One might be Assamite, but the other is insane... how much insane? She picked the words. She couldn't avoid an amused curling up of lips listening to Osidian teling Francis what she thought of him. 'Lilah thinks you're fractured, a poor maniac who occasionally has insights that he doesn't even realize. I think she's wrong. I think you're smarter than you let on, less cracked than you pretend to be." Fractured doesn't always mean poor or defective, dear Assamite... fractured crystal sometimes can give the most beautiful of lights. And of course Francis is smarter than he seems... were he not, he would have been gone by now. Lilah used the shadows to remain hidden, following their conversation. And as always, Francis' ravings triggered some warning signals in her own mind. "I think your hands are darker with blood than mine, and that's the way you like it." She frowned, something nagging at her, but then Francis was waving to her. "Lilahspider, stop lurking and come over! At least if you're going to listen in, you can do it to our faces." Without bothering to conceal her presence and how long she had been there, Lilah joined her kin. Francis came to meet her halway through, and the popping noise of the last rib he put in place made her grimace. She looked at him, frowning. "Have you really tried to sneak upon an Assamite, Francis?" She didn't play much attention to the answer, part of her mind trying to pin down what in Francis' words a minute before had set off the warning in her brain, another part trying to scan Osidian's aura. He hides it too well... aggressive, maybe suspicious, but I can't really say... ~~~~~~~~ OOC: will come back later today with a vote

Lilah hang up the phone, opening the heavy curtains a bit to stare at the night. A Nosferatu in the sewers is not surprising. But who knew where in the sewers? How was he caught in there? I cannot just believe in carelessness. She picked her coat, and then closed the door to her loft after her. She left quickly, and chose the shadows carefully. I wonder if Francis has news... or what kind of news he has. Listening to the night carefully, Lilah wanders apparently without purpose - though she knows exactly where to go. And hopefully she'd be able to meet Francis; though not anxious to talk to him, her mind wanted the input that his twisted words could give. And last night he was talking about mice... unhelpful mice... and LaSombra. ~~~~~~ OOC: vote for Mardrax/Francesca

~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was not written to be translated, but roughly it could go as follows... Roguish smile, impish look, sticking tongue out in gentle teasing; easy laughter, subtle look, open arms to play and protect. A smile in the lips, suddenly tender, inviting to dance in the rain, in the wind, in life... free heart soaring high dreaming and smiling without direction, bound towards the wind... ... randomly you.

Lilah left the pub, surreptitiously looking for Francis and wondering how much he had seen and heard of her conversation. She knew that the Malk would appear not to be paying attention to anything, but somehow he would always have enough to go through his twisted mind and get out again subtly changed, with meanings she would have sensed at the back of her own mind but unable to voice until days had passed. It's really fun how a Malk's mind works... or at least this Malk's mind. For the same reason, Lilah liked to be sure where Francis went after every shared evening, specially now with the Prince dead. I wouldn't put beyond him to see, ponder, do something and just as gleefully shrug it off and go back to his dumpster as if he has done nothing of consequence. Yes, she was quite sure that there was much more behind Malks than they showed. Insane, without any doubt - but not stupid in any way. Insanity could be indeed more useful than full reasoning some times. Lilah finally found Francis on his loft. He was putting down the phone when she entered unceremoniously, and he smiled at her. And some minutes later, he was telling her about Unhelpful Mice. She listened carefully but her face just showed a polite, half-bored countenance. And later, going to her own haven, she kept pondering about all the information she had gotten. Francesca San Giovetto... antitribu, and LaSombra... and also Caitiff. Powerful. Suspicious. That certainly makes sense. Of course, Francis is a raving mad... She went over the list of other Kin she had been keeping an eye on. She remembered quite clearly one of them - the angry neonate, who seemed still rather lost among the Kin. But would he do it? Not for power but for... something else? A kind of vengeance? He's new enough that those feelings might still intrude... But soon she shook her head, sighing inwardly. Nothing made sense, but in a way they made sense as a whole. The Prince was dead, and struggle was easily foretold. And they were not known for working together. ======= OOC: Vote for Savage/Simon .

OOC for WWXXXIII - Vampire: Wolf Masquerade

I'm traveling in about an hour and will be out of town until Monday evening.... I will have 'net access but it is both dial up and random . Still, I should be able to post later this evening or tomorrow morning. *poofs to stuff things in the car* -
A ruffled and quite disheveled wolf grins, trying to get up several times only to be pounced, tacklehugged, and glomped over and over... and also covered in glitter. As a huge Cake Elemental threatens to cover her in cake icing, she blinks and hides under the table... until she is enveloped by fire. "Ack!! Hey, I'm not fireproof!!" A bit scorched, she shakes herself and then flops on the floor, exhausted. Thank you all! *hugs everybody*

While talking to Francis, or to be more exact, listening to him, part of Lilah's mind picked up the raving threads and tried to unravel them. She kept a politely attentive face, quickly checking her companion's aura - a pale flickering of colors, often disturbed by violet streaks. As always... excited, daydreaming, and whatever else ... sometimes I wish Malk's had more distinguishable auras... but then, I wish also they had more distinguishable speech! All this talk about backstabbing... where did it come from? For some seconds she let her heightened senses bring her a picture of the area they were in, being always careful about who might be around observing an innocent pair of friends walking and talking. Francis' question intruded in her assessment of their grounds, and she turned to him. "I'm sorry? Didn't the Primogen say it was the work of a kine?" Who could, indeed? Vampire-hunters might have got a lucky strike... She felt Francis soft punch on her shoulder. What? Cows? "Besides, cows have flat teeth and don't generally actively seek to kill humans... now if some jealous cowboy were to push his boss into an oncoming stampede, they could very easily crush him to death, but the cows wouldn't know or care why he was dead." Lilah paused for a moment, brow furrowed as something in that sentence made deep sense to her. Jealous cowboys... can vampire-hunters have been led to the Prince? She dusted off her arm, wrinkling her nose a bit in disgust. I wish this was one of the times he slept on his loft, not on the dumpsters... "So you're saying you think it was orchestrated by one of the Kindred?" That was a daring thought, but not impossible. Her first thought was of some Sabbat incursion, but she was pretty sure she would have been able to sense something amiss if there had been Sabbat among the killers. But Sabbat could use tools, and they were not fools. There was always the possibility of power struggles. That made as much sense as Sabbat, actually. Of course, kine also had sometimes the willpower to plan and get something like this killing accomplished. No real answers... maybe not even hints. But it's good to have those in mind. Aw, Francis is in one of his poetic nights... She half-recognized the last verses, enough to hazard a guess on the original poem. She clapped softly, smiling to Francis. "That's a play on Coleridge, right? Rime of the Ancient Mariner?" "Something like that. Where are we going, by the way? Another mysterious midnight meeting with some mendicant mastermind of mortal manipulation?" Lilah smiled, not as secret a smile as she wanted to. Francis was as insane as any Malk, maybe more than most; but he was also a better company than she herself expected when she had met him those many years ago. He also used to give food for thought most of times, and that was one of the reasons she didn't mind his company. One other was that he had a perception that still surprised her, and even when he was completely wrong it was good to be kept on tiptoes. Feeling safe had always been the first step into doom. "Very astute, Francis dear."

Lilah left the building with Francis, her thoughts hidden behind a neutral face. Francis' voice didn't impress more than as a background noise on her mind. Her eyes followed Andreas' Mercedes, and she also registered others of the Kindred leaving. Not two of them took the same route out, and she wondered for a while what other Clans' views would be. Francis' ravings finally surfaced into her conscious mind, and Lilah turned to him. "So, the Prince is dead, the night is young, and the Kindred whispers... "

Name: Lilah Lestrand Clan: Tremere Generation: 10th Nature: Competitor Deamenor: Loner Sire: Mikhel Daaverstat Disciplines: Thaumaturgy (good - Hands of Destruction path) Auspex (good) Apparent Age: 25 Real Age: 107 Height: 1.65m Weight: 52kg Lilah has long black hair (reaching just below her shoulder blades), gray-blue eyes, fair skin that hasn't seen a tan even in her childhood, Lilah doesn't call special attention for her appearance, and she has learned to conceal the piercing gleam in her eyes since childhood to better deceive governesses and tutors. She favors clothes in dark blue hues, and has a certain skill to remain unnoticed in crowds. When out for hunting, she favors comfortable but sturdy leather boots, and either pants or slitted skirts that don't hamper movement. She never leaves her Haven without her knives concealed about her body. A small bag carries some extra knives and a handgun. She was the pampered daughter of a powerful politician, and from childhood had everything she wanted. However, being raised by a team of governesses and tutors who were never really loving to her, she soon developed an adventurous taste for the life out of her small perfect world. As soon as she could, she started escaping her parents and tutors to play with children on the streets of the city, going farther and farther in search of adventure in a darker world that fascinated her. She quite often ran away from the boarding school she was sent to, and no amount of scolding, punishment, or threat, stopped her for long. She spent much of her time investigating the premises of the school, the dorms, the streets nearbly, and wherever she happened to be. Thus, she developed a sense of opportunity and good stealth skills, along with a naturally sharp perception and good wits. At age 23, Lilah met Mikhel Daaverstat, a mysterious and intriguing figure who draw her into an even darker world than she though possible: a Tremere vampire, who Embraced her a year into their acquaintance. She lives in an apartment located above a warehouse near the docks. An inconspicuous door at the back of a rarely used storage room leads to stairs that go up into a kind of attic. There's a reinforced door at the end of those stairs that opens into a barely lit closet full of bookshelves. There's another door between two of the biggest shelves; it opens into Lilah's apartment. To the right there's a counter with an electric stove and some kitchen appliances, and a fridge. They're always a bit messy, as she actually cooked there - in case someone does enter the apartment. A small door indicates the neat bathroom. To the back there's an alcove behind dark curtains, where a huge canopied bed sits. There's one heavily curtained window to the right, around which a sofa and an armchair make up a living room. -

I'm in... character to come - will be a Tremere, anyway -
I like a lot the imagery of the poem, it transported me to the pre-dawn hour and I caught myself smiling while reading it. The only point I could suggest something - if I may - is that the pace of the poem in first reading seems a bit fast. It might be the lack of some punctuation to make the reader slow down at some points, make them appreciate and merge into the scenery (as to say). But then, that really comes from the way you see/feel what you wrote... I myself ignore punctuation quite a lot . Thank you for sharing this, Sora - I really appreciated the poem.

I like this poem... except for the first four verses... I understand that the first two verses are where the inspiration came from, but in spite of it I feel that they don't really belong in the way your poem flows. They might be better if kept separated and referred to as the source of inspiration... or quoted as a header, but not part of the poem per se. Or you might want to keep the idea, not the words - paraphrase them and use that in the poem. The 3rd and 4th verses sound rather broken. I understood the idea and the feeling, but I think that the use of inversion messed up the grammar too much. At least for me, it detracts from the feeling - it distracts the reader, actually - instead of adding a focus. The rest of the poem flows very, very well, and I really like it . I would just separate the first two verses (the lines from Bleach) as a quote, and eliminate the 3rd and 4th verses. Something like.. . The formless ones "We have no form, therefore we fear it. And because we are formless, we revere it." (from Bleach) With disorganized form, we wandered on. With dissident voice, we cried aloud. And with mindless roaming, we do attract the hunter. *Thus we are slain*, and vanish from this plain. Only to continue in the next; Fearing it, revering it, Losing form, pride lost, Wandering on, crying aloud Attracting the hunter, being slain, The cycle continues beyond time’s end, Because in truth: we are only humans. But then, that might be just me. Thanks for sharing, Mae - hope to see more of your poems around!
