i *really* like this. i didn't think i would, seeing the irregular line lengths, but the flow is really pretty good. There are a couple minorly rough spots, but it was very easy to adjust a little and make them work. i LOVE this line: so often you see/hear how time is endless when you're standing still. it's nice to see the other side of it get some air time. the last line is intriguing, as well. Well done. i almost bypassed this one, and i'm very glad i didn't.

i LOVE this! while i understand it's terribly annoying to have such a monstrously large thing in the middle of your parking space, i still wonder - if you were to open it and pop through, where would you end up? ;>

Ayshela flies across the Cabaret Room and *tackles* dragonqueen at the door, whirling her into a happydance and congratulating her heartily! With a warm hug, Ayshela whispers in her ear "never fear, i thought the very same thing."

Ayshela drifts in and scans the list of those promoted. Zeroing in on one name in particular, she hurls herself at HopperWolf with shrieks of glee and congratulatory hugs! With a sheepish grin she recovers herself, looks over the list again, and cirulates giving well deserved congratulations, hugs and handshakes to all as appropriate. WHEEEEEEE yays!!! Not a surprise in the lot, i must say, just well deserved recognition of work well done! (Though a few of you are rarer than we'd like.. oooooh, bad Ayshela, go to your corner!)

woohoo!!!! YAYS for Aardvark!! Herald, eh? so i suppose you'll be needing your outfit, a horn, and.. hmm... *begins rummaging in trunks as odd things go flying every which way* Congratulations!!

*blink* that was what i was supposed to be looking for? that wasn't where i was lost, but then i'm used to lines which wrap from one to another. what caught me was the juxtaposition of "troubled", "empty from neglect" and "everything is as it should be" honestly, i guess, because i'm rather unaccustomed to seeing anyone else voice it, as much as anything, but that may well mean something totally different to you than it does to me.

*snigger* that was, indeed, the most precise capture of your wicked sense of humour i think i've ever seen! (wanders off chortling.. "tax breaks".. *guffaws*) -
LOL will read it again when i've slept more than two hours and see then.

*nod* if you're going on a strict syllabic count, yes. it has, though, four feet without the "up" in a smoother flow, so i guess it depends on how you count it. =)

YAY!!! *happydances* Ayshela whirls into the Recruiters office with apologies of her own for her lateness, and whirls Purple Shadows out the door talking nineteen to the dozen as she shows her around. Glad to meet a fellow shadow person! Welcome, welcome, and it's about time you got around to applying! =) *hugs* -
Mira, the chances of my ever having anything to suggest on anything you write are so slim they'd be a supermodel's envy.. absolutely the only thing i saw in the time i have to give this (which is shamefully short) is that i'd omit the "up" on the first line of the last stanza. You'd recover the rhythm without it, and honestly.. who cares of they had to arise or were already standing? ;> The notion that they stand to lead is, to me, the important part
-
i lose you on the last stanza, but follow along nodding on the first two. i especially like the first two lines of the second.

Stressing the importance of a good vocabulary, the teacher told her young charges, "Use a word ten times, and it shall be yours for life." From somewhere in the back of the room, came a small male voice chanting, "Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda, Amanda."

*shrug* i saw no vilification here, rather acknowledgement of the dangers inherent in life. Besides, it *is* important to know your enemy, even if it's an enemy designated by nature, acting on instinct. The principle of watchful awareness holds, be it a bobcat, a coyote, a wolf, or man. The predatory nature is essentially the same. If you're on the prey list, you'd best be wary. *shrug* Excellently done, Regel. You are always a pleasure to read.

and that is the hardest, isn't it? How in the world to say what you cannot bear to say, can hardly bear to think? Distance can help. What if it was someone else? What if someone *else* were to think it, feel it, live it, what would *their* thoughts and feelings and responses be? Maybe the same as yours, maybe not, but either way you can dance around the situation. Carve it into bits, sometimes. "Today i will deal with *this* aspect, and only that." Difficult, at best, but focused attention on a small piece instead of trying to juggle it all can give the rest a chance to settle into place. Sometimes.. sometimes when i still don't want to just *say* it, i try to find some way to say something that's kind of like it. Find something similar, something that approaches the meaning of what i've been alternately trying to say - and trying not to say, and that's okay because it's just "kind of like it". It's close, it's in the outfield, but no one's going to get tagged on that one. And sometimes it just has to roll around unsaid because it won't allow itself to come out yet. That's frustrating no end, but it's okay too. When it wants to be said it will be there banging at your skull demanding to be written RIGHT NOW. *hugs*

Ayshela dashes into the room, hands full of balloon-strings.. she stops a moment to do the Happy Birthday dance, then flies over to Pip and ties the sixteen balloons gently to her wrists, eight on each. With a huge warm hug, Ayshela wishes her the happiest of birthdays then Ayshela simply.. disappears..

Happy happy birthday!! *does the Happy Birthday dance*

19 candles glowing brightly light the birthday cake warmest wishes from our hearts a happy birthday make (we hope) for SoaringIcarus Happy Happy Birthday to you! (looks at the snow outside.. ponders throwing snowballs.. nah...) =) *hugs*

oh, this is sooo soooo true!! One very very important point i neglected to mention before - Don't be afraid of looking silly to others. Go stomp in the puddles with the kids, have a snowball fight, splash in the waves, play hopscotch, whatEVER "silly" and "immature" harmless amusement you're sharing with someone at the moment. There's little better to lift your spirits than a bit of harmless silliness, and *those* are the moments you'll look back at and giggle over later. Heck, some of the best conversations i've ever had as an adult were carried on while swinging slowly at the park. And can't you just imagine the looks we got.. LOL

How lovely!!! Congratulations, and commisserations on the move.. *hugs* Will you be moving far from where you are now?
