Ayshela drifts in and stops on hearing Jechum's voice. Hearing his *words*, she laughs softly and drifts on by...

*nods* and as it's all in good fun between friends, the *actual* single-ness is really immaterial. IRL i'm *anything* but single, as is Sal, for that matter. It's really okay. You're bidding on the opportunity to spend some time with them. Go out for coffee, go to a gallery, have them hold your purse whilst shopping };> it's okay, really.

All-The-Time Accurate Fortunes Told.
Ayshela replied to Xaious, Master of Time's topic in Conservatory Archives
Ayshela wanders over to Xaious' tent and seats herself with a weary sigh. "Good afternoon," she says. "I do hope business is going well here, if less messily than at other locations." Smiling pleasantly, she sets her geld on the counter and awaits her fortune. -

i really *really* like this! The only thing i found unclear was that you left detailed description of his control of time when he had stopped it, so it almost reads as if the rest of the story takes place while time moves only for him. Your concept is wonderful, and your chronology and motivations clear and compelling. if you wanted to flesh this out you could add in character and setting descriptions along the way, but you have a compelling and intruiging piece here. i have understood your hesitance, but i maintain that there is place here for you. Stamping this one "approved", i say also, welcome back.

OOC: *g* if you want to weave it back around to the kissing booth, have at! would be a good exercise in and of itself.. but let's not *totally* forget the purpose of the thread, eh?
-
OOC: while i myself tend to be the Queen of Topic Drift, may i humbly and without offense suggest that you lovely people set up your own booth for merry mayhem?
-
OOC: *laughs gleefully* Not one step, have at and have fun!

i wish sometimes that i could see through time, across the many years that intervene - to see the choices which i had to make and all the options that i hadn't seen. Perhaps my life would be much better now if any of the choices had been made in quite a different way, or other time than how they were, because it's all i saw. And maybe yet it only would be changed, not better, only different somehow. Perhaps the changes would be for the worse and i would miss so much that i have now. Perhaps it's just as well that i can't see the options which would make a different me.

Ayshela looked around after helping Salinye set up the booth, thinking what fun this should be! She'd seen the kissing booths at carnivals before, but never had anything to do with this. Looking around again, she thought what a wealth of new experiences she'd had here at the Pen... this would be one of many, albeit perhaps one of the more memorable. She smiled as Lady Celes came up to chat, and tried to talk her into kissing Zool, but to no avail. Ah well, there was time yet, right? While Ayshela and Lady Celes were talking, Peredhil came up and looked at the sign, then looked at Ayshela. With a gallant bow he handed over his fee and leaned over to leave a butterfly kiss on the nose of a stunned Ayshela. She recovered in time to hear Lady Celes say something about the sign and permission, and gave Peredhil a brilliant smile before turning a confused and suspicioius look on Salinye. Yuki Kokoro appeared a bare moment later, before Ayshela had time to ask what in the name of the Goddess was going on? Handing over double fees, she kissed Zool - and then Ayshela, before leaving with a bright smile and cheery wave. Ayshela turned toward Salinye to demand an explanation, only barely noticing Yui wandering by to smile and wave at Zool as Sal protested her innocence and offered handwriting comparisons to prove she'd had nothing to do with it. The discussion was suddenly interrupted by the appearance of - a floating.. pie? How strange! The pie suddenly darts forward and lands squarely in Salinye's face. This startling event is followed by the gleeful appearance of a small sugar golem, who drops a ten geld fee on the counter and skips away as Ayshela and a now pie-covered Salinye stare at each other in confusion. Merelas appears with triple fees, kissing Salinye and Ayshela on the forehead, quite gently, and then SPLATS a pie in Zool's face before striding off with a wide smile. Ayshela and Salinye look at each other, realizing they need to see what their sign has been altered to read. They're about to step out in front of the booth when Tanuchan comes leaping over and pounces Salinye, licking all the pie from her face and dropping her entry fee on the counter before running away for a nap. Well! This was certainly turning out to be a day for surprises! Before they can step out front to look at the sign, Gnarlitch appears and smashes a pie in Ayshela's face. She gets her eyes cleared in time to see him backing away from Zool's portrait and leaning in to kiss Sal very emphatically. The three look at each other in shock, then continue cleaning themselves up, or catching their breath, as needed. Xaious appeared next, leaving all three at the booth a little worried. This would likely be either really good, or really bad, and the way things had been going Ayshela wouldn't make any bets on things going well. As he dropped his entry fees on the counter and smashed them all with pies, Ayshela sighed heavily and wished she were anywhere else. As Xaious kissed Sal's hand, Ayshela thought for a moment that perhaps the rest of this wouldn't be quite so bad. He leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek, murmuring that he was buying her a few seconds free from everyone else, and apologized for his aim. She laughed softly, and said "That's okay. I'll send you the cleaning bill..." then let he go, and looked a little puzzled as he went to stand by Zool. This was just getting more and more odd by the moment! Gyrfalcon and Daryl came through the area next, much to the relief of everyone at the booth. Gyr handed Sal and Ayshela a towel to clean the remnants of pie off their faces and clothes and then cleaned off Zool's portrait. "Goddess bless you, Gyr!" Ayshela stammered, adding her explanations to Sal's. "I signed on to help with the booth! I didn't sign on to staff it, and i certainly never signed on to be assaulted with pies!" She continued to clean her face and sadly smeared clothes while Sal snuggled Daryl and was quite thoroughly monopolized by Gyr for a while. Noting his crossing Sal's name off the sign, she sighed and smiled again. Well, at least Sal was off the hook for the rest of what was quickly turning into a nightmare. Xanthus barreled up to the booth with two roses in his hand, and before Ayshela could properly brace herself she found herself being kissed passionately and at length, and again, as her knees begin to buckle from near suffocation. The other rose and a solid kiss were bestowed on Zool, and Ayshela noticed that as Xanthus disappeared, so did the entry fees. With a scowl, she looked after him, but noticed Jirah on an intercept course so smiled and let her attention wander again. Popku appears and looks over the sign and the booth and then disappears, only to reappear setting up a booth and - t-shirts? How odd! Ayshela stayed with the booth and let Sal deal with that one. Noticing Popku's panic and hurried disappearance, Sal and Ayshela turn to see what's frightened him so. Seeing Wyvern coming their way, both ladies pale slightly. At the words "delicious" and "eat you right up" panic gains headway, and they think quickly and pull Zool's portrait before them. At his request for whipping cream, Ayshela scoops up a pie plate with a generous amount of whipping cream left in it and passes it to Wyvern with a huge sigh of relief. Jirah wandered up a couple of moments later, dropping a pouch of coins on the counter, explaining that he'd remedied Xanthus' "oversight" in neglecting to pay for the kisses he'd so clearly received. Dropping an extra fee beside it, he gently kissed Ayshela on the forehead and left instructions to call him in case of need. Ayshela smiled and began to relax again. She laid her hand on his cheek for a moment and gave heartfelt thanks. It was a relief to know he'd be about. As Jirah vanished into the crowd, a rather distracted and confused raven appeared, cleared his throat, and said "nevermind" before flying off. Ayshela quickly stifled the urge toward laughter and watched the raven fly off - only to see Quoth appear nearby, on a direct course toward Xanthus. Now that was odd! Ayshela watched closely as Quoth approached Xanthus who looked up in time to see Quoth veer away - and deposit a "gift" in Xanthus' eye. Ayshela chuckled a bit but had to turn back to the next booth, as Tzimfemme appeared hastily snatching chocolate creme pies and vanishing with them into a portal. Smiling hugely, Ayshela wriggled happily at seeing the ammunition disappear and sent her thanks after Tzimfemme! Mynx set up a booth nearby, with a raven in a box, guaranteed to speak the truth. An innocent customer comes by - and wanders away in confusion, having indeed heard the raven speak "The Truth". Ayshela giggled softly, and as Mynx called out out "How's business?" she looked around and said "It.. is.. very strange! And you?" Dean wandered by, seeming a little distracted. He paid his entry fee, looked at Sal, at Ayshela, and at Zool, then wandered by the three of them to kiss the wooden mermaid at the swap meet tent. He gazed adoringly at the mermaid, then wandered off again, to the bemusement of those at the kissing booth tent. Bemusement continued as Zariah rushed up, stammering an explanation of her donation and the gift she had. Carefully unwrapping it, Ayshela and Salinye grew wide-eyed. Chocolate!!! Hiding it carefully so Tzimfemme wouldn't find it, they determined to save that for a treat, once they'd survived their experiences in the booth.. and Kaitlyn would be certain to enjoy the shiny wrapper! Hugging Zariah in thanks for the gift, they looked for a secure hiding place for their chocolate.

Ayshela ponders Wyvern's plea for a moment before rejecting it. "No, if you hurt yourself on it when you're dunked the whole thing's over, and you're not getting off *that* easily. However, just for you..." and she tosses one five-geld entry fee into the tank. They both watch the coins drop to the bottom. "That should keep you properly entertained for a while, eh?" And with a cheery smile, Ayshela slaps the target to make sure it isn't stuck, and walks away before the wave of water can soak her.

okay, taking the butterfly and the river, right? The butterfly danced on the gentle breeze, stretching her wings in enjoyment of the cool caress. Fluttering over the river, she gazed at herself in the rippled surface. The river spoke in murmurs, speaking the truth of the moment and moving on incessantly. The butterfly preened at her beautiful reflection as the river murmured compliments, then both went on their way.
