Oh. Cause you said we couldn't claim to be baner or seer OOC for any reason. I guess PMs are exempt from that. PMs are basically OOC (or IC if desired) ways to communicate where lying and cheating and so forth is allowed... right? Sure. I'm ready to start whenever Sir Deggy desires. *runs away from possible wrath* (Sorry, I'm in an odd playful mood).

Well, I'm going to do the easiest person on the list (ie, everyone knows Wyvern) because I don't feel like I know anybody else's characters well enough, even the people I've nominated... Perhaps this would get more answers if we were supposed to do ourselves? Anyway, if anyone can do a better one, with or without using bits from mine, go ahead.

Katz patiently copies and pastes for Deg.

But... he led the killing of your hunter! ... You guys be sure to read it when Tanuchan posts this in the library, since between us we are adding a new scene to explain why and how Cat dies (since she's not part of the revenge scheme, and it would be very difficult for Amanda to kill a child). No hints! You must all read. . . . Deg called me evil, so now I have free reign to be evil. Enjoy new, evil Katz.

Erm.. if we're not starting until Friday, why close it? ...Just asking. Edit: I'm evil And you missed my first questions.

Is it a rule that we're not supposed to PM more than a few people?

That's interesting, I'd never even thought of that concern. Do you mean, you wouldn't know how to do it? Well, I'm not forcing you to (no, not even you, Tamaranis, will be forced into it if you don't want ) but you may want to consider, then, the possibilities that trying it would open in terms of enhancing roleplaying skill. I would have thought that of all characters, your own actions and habits would be best known to you and the easiest predicted. But whether or not this is true, by doing yourself you can consider how you roleplay and compare the differences between a fictional character and yourself, and perhaps learn ways that you can improve either from the other. By understanding your own reluctance and overcoming it, by looking at yourself in the same way you see any of your characters, perhaps you can increase the depth of those characters. Not that you need help roleplaying. Or necessarily have any desire to change anything. Just a thought. If not... well... do what you want. On another note... since this is temporarily open again pending any interest... I've had 3 officially sign up, and there's a little nonofficial interest around... Does anyone want to comment on the feasibility of Ayshela's suggestions? Does anyone want to bring up any further concerns? Does anyone have any questions?

That sounds like a good way to do it. The table may be hard to do, what with needing the same perspective, but by cutting out the people you can move them around easily with respect to each other and the table. If it were my piece, I'd hesitate to glue it, but I don't see what else you can do. It will be neat to have pictures of each step, though. Funny about the openings, though I certainly wondered if it was in the original that way. Anyway, looking good!

My fate was more likely being pushed over a cliff. Aaaaaaaahh! I wasn't avenged... Until years later, and really that was Jamz being avenged. *is sad* So... why did Deg fall out of suspicion? Hm?

Ohhh, I thought you meant the angle of the camera when taking the picture of the hall, and then I was wondering why you had a real hall when you were trying to copy the hall in the painting, and... yeah. How come you've done the background all up and there's no table or people? Are you drawing them in a different picture, or did you just draw the hall completely in order to make sure you had that right, and you'll erase parts as needed? I'm not sure what the original is like, but: * The first three ceiling bars on the far left seem bigger than the ones to their right. * The openings on the left are definitely taller than the openings on the right. Overall it looks very good and I am very impressed. Love to see it as it progresses.

I had trouble with that same line, but in a different way. Jeral had just popped out of the compartment, so was Jeral wondering why the big man hadn't noticed that Jeral was close, or was Jeral wondering why Jeral hadn't noticed the big man was close? Also, what happened to Irene? Is she still in the compartment? If not, whose group is she in? And how come the other two guys got to name themselves captains when the man said captains would be chosen? Other than those few things, I am thoroughly enjoying. Sounds like a great setup, and I am definitely wondering about this Academy. (Have you ever read Ender's Game, though? You said this was from a dream, but you may want to watch because some of it looks very similar to Ender's first experiences in the space program. If you ever wanted to publish, that might be a consideration.)

I'll try... for I am the (dun dun dun) class clown. My name is Jaquie Katz, and I am blind since birth. However, I am beligerantly angry with anyone who tries to treat me as less capable than the blindness makes me. My main compensation for the blindness is humour, and I am also one of the few who stands up to the bullies, though I've paid for it more than once. So I have multiple enemies, some admiration for my humour and for my toughness, but few close friends (I have issues with believing that they really like me, or don't pity me).

I also enjoyed it, and enjoy it all the more with the added explanation, which fits much better than my original understanding. I still don't quite get all of it, though. The meaning of this line eludes me: It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten of this flesh Has the person tried to overdose before? Or is it, like my first interpretation, referring to the time since they last prayed, or felt whole? Thanks for this piece. I look forward to seeing more from you.

I'm not trying to make people fit into my list! I just made it for quick reference, and am editting it as we add people. It's certainly not my place to tell anyone who to be. Glad we're seeing some different faces this time. Vahk... what does WWJD stand for?

If I do end up playing the jock, I won't make him homosexual since Elwen and Buddha and myself would probably be overrepresenting the G/L/B/T community. I may still play the jock. Eirishluck, as long as no one else cares, I certainly wouldn't mind either. I'm also thinking someone may want to play a celebrity kid, like someone who's on a sitcom and so everyone assumes they're popular whether they are or not. Tamaranis mentioned a member of a minority religion like Wikkan (sp?) and despite much urging he's not going to play it. I'm still going to wait and see what spots get taken before claiming my own spot.

Nerds: Merelas, Tanuchan, dragonqueen (er, sort of) Cheerleader: Celes Druggy: Buddha Exchange Student: Jammeez Class Clowns: Katzaniel Jocks: Gnarlitch Goths: Bullies: Dean (and cronies) Creepy Kids: Eirishluck Skaters: Drama Geek: Elwen, Eyremon Reporters: Vanessa, Nave Christian: Vahktang Other: MeThinksUFoolish (how to classify that?) I'll update this as we fill spots or people mention groups. We wouldn't want to be missing any major stereotypical students, now would we? I'm playing with the idea of being the "jock in the back of the room" that Tanny talked about, but he's also gay, and comes out to the class in the first day phase. That would make for some very interesting roleplay with respect to Tanny's character and Buddha's character, as well as the reactions of the other students. Plus I like to push myself as a roleplayer, and playing a homosexual male (who likes sports - I never have) is definitely something I've never done. Or, I could be the class clown since we don't have one, but it may be too easy since they are generally liked by everyone. If there are any newbies who haven't claimed a character, they might want to consider being the class clown. Actually I'm willing to be about anything that isn't already claimed, male or female. Another question, are we allowed teachers? Edit: (Didn't want to add a *third* post in a row...) I think we should set most of the character info in this thread here, since no one yet is actually dating, most of it would be public information. Especially in a gossip mongering highschool... nothing is ever secret for long.

Are the PMs OOC or in? If the PMs are IC, can we then claim to be a certain role? Are the wolves allowed, then, any level of discussion of tactics? If someone claims in the game thread to be baner/seer, can that be henceforth discussed in PMs? Like, "If you're the seer, what have you seen?" I'm in, of course. I'll wait a little on character, since I want to see if someone is claiming the jock character.

Fewer comments on the latest. Still enjoying. "...long since woken up from." "...to attack the things she believed in." You know what to do And a question: Are you Canadian? American? Australian? English? Other? I ask because you have been spelling words like "colour" the American way, but "grey" you spelled the Canadian way. So I'm not sure, since I don't know which particular brand of english is yours, but I think you may actually want to be using "gray", although I cringe to spell it like that.

I don't know very much French (perhaps I'll someday take a shot at writing something in the little I know, but not now) but I thought some might find this useful: (despite the not-quite-monospace font and disappearing space difficulties) --- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F 0 --+--------------------------------+ 0 | ☺ ☻ ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ • ◘ ○ ◙ ♂ ♀ ♪ ♫ ☼ ► | 1 | ◄ ↕ ‼ ¶ § ▬ ↨ ↑ ↓ → ← ∟ ↔ ▲ ▼ | 2 | ! Multiply the number along the left by 16 and add the column number. As an example, ¿ is is row A (10) and column 8, making 10*16+8 = 168. Alt-168. Hope this isn't too confusing! Alt-20 is newline. And Alt-32 is a space. Some of them won't show depending on where you're trying to use them. Enjoy! Edit: Trying to make clearer.

alt 164: ñ alt 173: ¡ (although it looks here almost like an i) Just ask me if you need any more... Actually, I'm going to post an ASCII chart.

Not sure how much it matters, really, but alt-168 gives the ¿

Just to build on Gyrfalcon's first suggestion, what if you said: "There has always been division. There has always been strife. But most of all there has always been hatred." This would avoid having too much repetition while still allowing you to use what I thought was effective repetition, as well as fixing what I took to be Gyr's point about "almost, almost". Oh, and I'd wanted to say: Of course you will take the right to pass on them They are suggestions and nothing more. I will keep them coming as long as I have the time and you still want them.

Shanna looks around at the group of people: the elven roc rider, the man called Alric, the two travellers she had met but minutes before all the excitement, and others yet unnamed. She knew nothing about any of them, but they were all looking at her expectantly. "I'm sure that I don't know the answer to that, Mr. Finnius. All I know is that you come into this bar with your friend there, and the next moment I'm being attacked. I'm not blaming you," she adds quickly when his eyes narrow at her comments, "certainly you saved my life and I'm thankful for that, but surely you know as much or more as I." Edit: Realized that Shanna doesn't know Sliver/Aiden's name yet.

Hope that it's not what I said that made you mad, Gnarlitch... we all seem to be agreeing now, though, so I'm not going to talk about that. I did want to say that in my opinion, we should make a rule to better clarify just how much OOC talk is allowed. Sure, a wolf and a villager can both claim to be innocent IC and out, but it really confuses things when people start basing votes on what other people have said OOC, and it looks like we're on the verge of doing that. I'm not trying to influence votes from the dead here, but I am trying to influence how much is said OOC. In my opinion, one shouldn't even state things like "Sorry, I've been away for the last week." or "I don't know who to think the wolf is!" because it gives information we don't need. I'm not saying I'm innocent of this, I just think some comments have prompted others and it is sort of getting out of hand, and we should try to cut back on this.

Okay. *phew* I feel much better... this whole thing felt like I was having a big misunderstanding with a close friend. Maybe we can still do this. Someone with mod access would have to be willing to do the things Ayshela suggested with regards to limited access and deletion, but they sound like very good ideas. At any rate, I only posted that picture because I never meant to tell who I was in this thread, so *snatches picture*. Peredhil, I think that a huge part of my miscommunication was coming to you as a total stranger and acting like a trusted friend. True, I missed out on some other things I should have said, but as I had one person point out to me, if those statements had come from Katzaniel, she would have looked closer and asked harder questions, versus coming from a total stranger, these things just didn't come across the same. Still, good lessons for us all.
