  1. Take two. It's been a dark day near the Pompei's ruins. The volcano is spitting lava and dark clouds furiously, sparing nothing from it's rage. Meanwhile, a scare rabbit bolts it's way out of the ruins. After a frantic race against death, the rabbit finally stops at a safer part of the valley and looks at the disaster he left behined relieved.
  2. Both Ayshela and I decided that older applicants need not to reapply. However, feel free to post anything else you'll be more confortable with, be my guest.
  3. Celes enjoys seeing Pennites participating in the Dunk Tank booth. While Carbone camly laid down underneath the table one which the basket containing the balls sits, Cambronne watches the show with interest right beside said basket. However, the water is not stagnant enough for him, hence the reason he's keeping a safe reason from it.
  4. |-|4|>|>'/ 81|27|-||)4'/! Forgive me for the 1337 spelling.
  5. Happy Birthday Nyyark! Wish you success in your many projects.
  6. There's no need to be shy writing because we can make typos, faults, etc. We're all here to learn from each others in a postive and constructive way. Also, for someone who's not a native English speaker like me, this is a great oppotunity to learn more words, expressions and sentences twists. Anyhow, welcome to the Pen.
  7. Celes does chunk another five geld in the Jar, while both cats were watching her mistress. - Hum... let's see if I can cool this greedy almost dragon a bit. Celes shoots her first throw but she missed it completly. Then she throws another ball but it misses the red dot againt. She didn't do better at the third throw. Wyvern was delighted. - Well, it seems that my throws are still awful!, commented Celes Meanwhile, a fly swirled around the cats' head and lands on the middle of the red dot. Carbone hastily jumped on it, declenching the mechanism. Wyvern's cries out of surprise while the tabby cat bolts away from the booth. - Oooops! Sorry Wyvern! I didn't expect that my cats will cut your celebration short. Celes uses her magic to lift Wyvern and the mechanism back in place, ready for the next contestant.
  8. My turn! A robin sings of joy when she sees her eggs finally hatching. Finally, the waiting was over and the robin can proudly hunt down food for her chicks. The tree gently cradles the nest and protects the robin family from the sun and the rain with patience.
  9. Shy Carbone was walking around, looking at the people gathered nearby the kissing booth. She walks around in a crouch position, hoping that she wont get noticed. Then she arrives behind Zool's portrait. The cat looks at the frame and it looks so perfect for scratching. In fact she's already started. - STOP IT!,yells Zool as soon as he felt the cat's claw on the frame Carbone stopped immediatly and was beyond than confused. Also, everyone's attention is now focused on her. The shy tabby cat fleed away as fast as possible, as if her life depended on it. The whole crowd blinks their eyes in confusion before resuming their activities.
  10. (If there's any word used wrongly, I apologizes in advance.) ********************************************************************* On a dark Monday night, two graverobbers where standing in front of Florence Nightingale's tomb. One of the men gave a quizzical glance at his partner, James, a former priest who checks on the lanterns' blinding flames before grabbing his spade. - Are you really sure about it?, asks the rubbish Earl, What kind of garbage are you seeking out of this grave? A somber James puts a cigarette up in his mouth and looks for any matches within his reach. Earl lends him his green lighter. After the most experienced man lights his cigarettes and gave to his portly companion his lighter back, he finally answers. - That is because I want the Quill she's buried with. She was the defendant of the sick and I am sure that I can fetch enough money out of it. - Are you serious?, protest an angry Earl, You want me to help you disturbing a well-loved lady's rest over a decomposed cloth trash? What kind of rubbish idea is that? James gives a mighty blow of pickaxe in the ground between Earl's feet. He was obviously annoyed by the couch potato's protests. - If you want to be done with this dread job early, I strongly suggest to stop protesting and start to smite your way to this tomb as quickly as possible. - Sure, although remind me to mark this exact day on the calendar so that I'll remember that bizarre task. The former religious man snorts his despice and mocks his partner. - What kind of graverobber you make! Are you often repulsed by this kind of job? Earl grunts and digs furiously while James chuckles before joining his unlikely partner in this task. The night ahead will be a long one.
  11. Celes laughs amused by the look of the poor, embarrased Zool. She chuckles at Asheyla. - Really, that is a rare opportunity you give to everyone. It's not everyday anyone have the opportunity to kiss a lively painting. - Wanna be the first one?asks Asheyla - Naaah! Styler wont be happy to find out that I kissed a painting. - But I'M a good kisser!!! Zool protests Celes laughs. - I have no doubt about that! Meanwhile, Cambronne rubs his head on Zool's frame, irking the painting even further. - No Cambronne, I do not belong to you! Celes! Make your cat stop it! Celes grabs her cats away from Zool and holds him against her chest. - If I collect geld for each time Cambronne is rubbing any parts of his on anyone, I'll could be rich in no time.
  12. Well, I'm pretty glad that Québecers did protested against the Liberals in masse. However, I'm a bit dissappointed that the NDP didn't had more seats than that. One thing is sure, the Liberals wont start elections for at least a year or two since it'll be extremely costly economically wise for the country and they do cost a lot to the governement. Québec Premier Jean Charest (a federalist) is satisfied with the outcome and clearly said that he will support any federal party that will bring up the issues of fiscal imbalance and help to the family. I think the Liberals will find politics that will please both the Bloc and NDP (both are left parties that share opinions on several issues). It will be very interesting to see how Paul Martin will deal with that.
  13. Katz: Thank you. I appreciate the open-mindness Tamaranis: It's beyond the language, it's the culture. It's had been proven multiple times that Québecers thinks different from Ontarians, Albertans, etc. However, federalism needs to be at least heavily redefined because since, as we had seen with the healthcare money, every provinces are now constantly tucking the federal's sleeves for money that belongs in provincial competance field. Now about the elections: The Liberals won the elections but they'll form a minority governement. They had the worst losses in Québec, in which the Bloc gain the majority of it seats (54 out of 75) and they had significant loss in Ontario. The Tories are dissapointed, but I wish they'll learn that we're in the 21st century. Well, I did vote BQ according to my convictions. However, it's not because I'm one of these "separatist" that I have a grudge against the Canadians. My grudge is against this overcentralized federal governement.
  14. *rofl* Wyvern, you are crazy indeed.
  15. What can I say after all this craziness? Happy Birthday Zool.
  16. First, about July first, it is celebrated but not as much as the St-Jean for the simple and good reason that lots of appartments rentals contracts ends on June 30th and the majority of movings occured during this period and that there's a lots fo people who is not attached to Canada. About Gilles Duceppe and the Bloc, I think that a little bit of history will help you understand what they are. This party is created by disgruntled conservatives and liberals from Québec after the failure of the Meech accord (which would have settle down once and for all the Canadian constitutionnal problems). Yes, they are separatist/sovereignist but they decided that they should give the people who are disgruntled with the federal governement a voice. They were supposed to be there only until 1995, when the second Québec refendum occured. However, after the No barely won, the Bloc's mandate had to change and it morphs into defending Québec's interest in the Canadian parliament. Their positions most on the left side. They agreed with the Kyoto protocol, they were against the war in Irak and they think that the governement should give more power to the provinces. However, the Bloc cannot launch referendum since only the Québec provincial governement. Duceppe, in my opinion, is a fine and intense politician (even some hardcore federalists thinks the same about him). He's someone who is passionnate about his believes and he had been very impressive in both debates (although, he was the most experienced of all four). About the Bloc, I admit that I share their views. The Liberals had done horrible politics in the past (the Mirabel airport fiasco, their unemployement policies, the lack of control in their spendings, etc.) while the new Conservative have way too much extremists and conservative. The NDP is a distant second choice seems that their politics have similarities with those of the Bloc but they have not much appeal to me. What will happen in Québec will probably be the following: - Liberals will be heavily punished. Regions with high-level of seasonal jobs are mad with the actual governement politics regarding unemployement while several others will make them pay for the sponsorship scandal. - Conservatives will have some support but will don't have many seat if any. Also, lots of their politics are very unnappealing to most Québécois. - NPD wont have any seat in Québec. If they have one, it'll be a surprise. - The Bloc will gain more seats than in 2000 mostly because they'll benefit from the grudge against the Liberals while still having a strong support from the sovereignist/separatist. Also, the actual provincial Liberal governement is not supportive toward its federal counterpart and it's having its share of problems of its own. Wheeew... in hope that I havent opened any can of worms, here it is.
  17. I wish you Salinye and your kids a quick recovery. I hope the doctor will find soon enough what is wrong and cure it. *Gives a hug*
  18. Well, I'll take a break. I have many catchup with the guild, among other things.
  19. Katz: Of course! Well, St-Jean Le Baptiste (St. John The Baptist) is the St. Patron of the French Colonists and their descendants. Like Independance Day and Canada Day, it's a celebration about who we are, where we come from and then where we are heading. These leads to celebrations and happenings everywhere in the Belle Province (ie Québec) although they are more spectacular in Québec City and Montréal. It occurs every June 24. About the elections, I do agree with the Pointy one when he said that poeple should vote accoring to their convinctions, not to whom will be in power.
  20. I do wonder why Paul Martin decided to make elections four days after the St-Jean... when all Québécois will be pumped up against him? He does have weird ideas.
  21. Ahem... to be honest, it is clear that we are heading for a Minority Governement, which is the best thing it could happen after seeing the Liberals dilapidating money with over-paid "patriotic" ads, balancing the federal budget on the back of the Provinces, and making unemployement help harldy accessible to seasonnal workers while having an Alliancist zealot as a potential Prime Minister. It is sad that such closed-minded people desires to drag parts of the population in the 19th century. As for me, I do not vote for being in the side of power, I vote according to my convictions.
  22. *Hopes she's not too late.* Happy Birthday.
