When I read this, I reflect that in my world view, my first thought is stopping with the initiator of the problem instead of deleting the victim. I guess in a life without a tangible hope, self-destruction might seem the only way out.

textures of silk and velvet the life that lives before dawn the memory of that dance lingers on and on and on...

oomph. I think I'll keep my thoughts to myself, and just say this one speaks of loss very very well.

This reminds me of when, as a child, I believed a parent's kiss on an owie could magically make everything better. It's sad to grow up, stilling needing magic, and lose that wonder. This is well written.

Heh, when I'm nervious, I babble. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes I listen in horror as I hear what is tumbling out of my mouth...

I like these haikus, They capture Myth very well. Varied shades of death...

Hmmm. I read this, and I'm reminded that just because people are young, their feelings may not be. I'm mindful of the lesson to parents set forth in Romeo and Juliet. There's a thin line between being protective and being confining.

I'd make 'fast' into 'quickly' in the first stanza, but that's me begin a grammarian. I like the image this gives me. When I read it, I see someone using love as a light to explore themself, and as a lighthouse of sorts. Striving for that light is so worthwhile, that even when as they fall, it's okay, because they carry that light with them. This is the kinda thing I might write if I had a Muse who was also a real person - but I'd never met her.

what an interesting study in contrast. Reminds me of reading Romans in the bible in a way - the "struggle between what I do, and what I think I should do" part.

Happy Birthday to our favorite Dragon. 15 is a great number - it's 3 times 5. neato neato.

I'm glad you warned me it was garbage. Cause I rather like it for its simplicity and the image of the temporal nature of things - blowing in on the wind, and blowing away just as easily.

Oh that's lovely! Welcome back after a long absence in a BIG way. Hugs

Reading this grips a person like a fist, and doesn't let go until the tension filled end. Regarding NoC's point, I'll quote my Mother, "after you've set out to write, discard the first paragraph. It's usually just clearing the pipes for the piece."

The following is a summary of Elwen's story thus far. If you get lost in this overview, all the details of this great reading may be found here in the Assembly Room. I tried to give this a Norse Edda chanting feeling. I hope you enjoy this Elwen. Peredhil Hear story of Lirya Moonflower, a starlit Elven bard, In Roselyn’s temple physical healing is found. Enchanted Harp she has won, a deed quite hard. Consider Lady Elwen, a nine-tail Kitsune thief Ancient fox spirit bound to Lirya’s prenatal being. Now these twinned spirits feel a common grief. She’s pining away, unreturned love; she’s torn apart. The lovely gray-bright eyes now dark have gone Life’s will dashed by demon-elf flight at offering of heart. Summoned Lirya’s body twin Aural telepathically feels her peril He’s torn seeing her weep hopeless tears of loss without sound. In haste he and his familiar Justeen begin seeking Damon Inferel. The maiden’s love is finally found- although he’s still on edge. For each time his memory or dream replays her word of love. He flees his feelings and hers, knowing he’s unworthy of her pledge. As Damon, Aural and Justeen make hasty return to Elwen’s side, Will they make it before Elwen and Lirya fade forever away Can half-demon overcome his fear of love and swallow his pride?

Happy birthday, beloved Elder/Ancient. the man that started me into public writing - whether you'll be praised or cursed for that remains to be seen. Mentor of more excellent writers than I care to count. Your Friend Always, Peredhil

What a talented piece on a difficult subject! I'm amazed at the responsibility you claim for Dawn and Sas though. Unless you were driving the car that killed Sas, you aren't responsible for her death. The fact that you dare to love someone doesn't cosmically kill them. There is a karmic fallacy there - that your love kills. While there is no current bottom to the pain that grips you, you still aren't God, to determine life or death by the mere fact of your striving to have a meaningful life. Sorry to be harsh, but that sort of thinking is hopeless and defeating. Having followed your posts, and listened to you in IRC, I think you have a great deal of potential to give to the world. Not that the world will appreciate you, but there it is. -Peredhil's two cents.

Very vivid image. I think that only someone who's been in an abusive relationship releases how hard it is to let go. It's so easy to say, "leave!" Hugs You have talent, you have the courage to post, and you have something to say. I look forward in complete confidence to watching you grow. -Ancient Ole Peredhil

Moirai ==> Mwar-ri (long i, sounds like eye with an 'r' in front

How about Ash Moirai NoC has given the references for Ash (although I'll point out it This was happens when your boss calls you into their office when you're in the middle of posting... To continue - ...point out it is part of the root form for the word Asmodeus (Ash Modei). The Moirai part is from the Greek for the Fates. -A chagrined Peredhil

Hmmm. HOW you decide to RP, whether you put actions in italics or put *actions in stars* isn't really what I'm groping toward. Does the thread have a GM who plays everyone except the Player Characters? (PCs) Does the thread have rules that provide a guideline for everyone to free-form play? For example, in this thread, no magical weapons allowed, only magical powers. Is the thread turn-based, where everyone plays their own character (and NonPlayer Character (NPC) henchmen), or is it event driven, where a writer can write an entire scene involving everyone's characters to push the plot forward? Is the thread limited in the number of writers/characters who can participate? Is there OOC interaction and planning, or is each post absolute, and everyone must build from where the last poster left the plot and characters? Is there...

Do you think you could explain this a bit more, with an example? I haven't a clue to what you are referring.

In a Greenroom Out Of Character (OOC) thread, Rune made a distinction between the two styles in the main story thread. I'll repeat what she said here: Do you think that there are other categories suitable for online RP? If so, post them here, with an example. I'm thinking it might be useful for our Conservatory play, if the person who starts the thread posts in the description what type of style under which it will be played. An example of the Novel style might be Darkness Rising from the Pen Library, in which Yui Temae, Zool and I cowrote a short story without anyone playing Game Master. Another example from the Library of playing without a Game Master(GM), but according to a set of fixed Rules is Cerulean's Masquerade. The Conservatory itself has examples of Turn-Based Game Mastered (or to use the old term, Dungeon Master (DM)) play. Are there other style categories that deserve a title of their own? Would all you Role Players want to use style categories to guide your thread participants? Anyone? ... ... Bueller? ... ... Bueller?

Welcome back! I was thinking of you the other day as I visited our IRC room. Hope all has been well with you. By the way - it's not dribble. It's poetry and the questions of love and death are timeless...

Finally had a chance to look at this. There's some good stuff there. Maybe an Elder could add it to the List of Link? Great job, most favorite Enemy! -Peredhil
