I think this one shows the story, instead of telling it, a bit more.

outgrowing friendships of the past, as we mature, change - and grow apart, can be very stressful and hard. I hope the two of you can agree to be different, and not resent the closeness is gone. There's a lot of comfort in social conventions such as manners - they allow people who disagree to co-exist without overt friction...

When you make choices with your head, instead of a heart trained in Bad Situations... It's hard to fight, and retrain your tendancies, to constantly question yourself (for the heart will fool you in your head with your own voice), and to choose. But when you look back and compare the Now of your tomorrows with the Pasts of your destructions, it can be worth it. Hugs Have you considered joining? We have more private chambers, where you can lay your heart out to Pen Family, and not have the casual observer view as well.

(could be 'spouse - non-working spouse', or 'elderly parent living with' tax deduction too. Peredhil, who sees too many shades of gray sometimes.)

Written in real-time, transcribed at Wren Wind's request. Minor word order changes to clean it up. EP31 In love with love, and the fantasy woman Which I painted over you You might've been good for me And I could've been good for you. But I loved the fantasy woman too much And didn't give up the dream And now we've parted into our lives Our togethers will never be seen.

you know... this is not only really good, but... it's amazing. From the time of Adam, it seems like men, when they apologize or explain, try to excuse it all away as if it wasn't wrong, or shift the blame and responsibility. This work of yours didn't. It took total responsibility without being a martyr. Peredhil idly fixes a spelling error so the work's beauty shines brighter and walks off thoughtfully.

Peredhil nods Description of genetic thinking to the extreme. There's a choice, a harder way. People can choose to be better than that, in my experience... Just have to find a way to forgive themselves each time they fail.

NOT what I'd expected! What a neat way to interweave the the conversations.

When we first met, you didn't hug or cry I gaze in wonder as I consider how little time has gone by. You've grown, you fly, you sing, you cry You love, you help, you - Live again. I am so intensely proud that I've been able to watch you grow, and proud of you. Peredhil hugs

Nice first post! Sounds like this person missed a true gem. Peredhil hugs the new-comer welcome.

You don't post much - but what you do post I enjoy much. Cryptic and archetypical for me; I took a great deal away from this. -P

Oh what a wonderful romp of fun. I hope everyone who has been a child and suspicious of doctors could relate as well as I. I *liked* this!

Here in America the painful surprise of September 11th's three plane anniversary is at hand. In the last two years, I've seen it move from a fever to a fad to a "is that still around?" Over in Ireland, you've been torn with patriotism, blood, and casualties that make the World Trade Towers seem small in their shadows. All this to say, I find your poem to have the same international character as humanity, and it moves my thoughts. Thank you for writing.

You have a powerful voice, and unfortunately, too much subject matter. May your inspirations give you more joyful songs to sing...

Happy Birthday indeed!

Thank you for choosing to serve your country. May the decisions the civilian leadership makes return to you a reflection of the honor you show. Hugs

muses stereotypes... true. But in my view, used like curtains behind which we get a glimpse of a slightly different view. Of course, I read into things. As a ten minute wonder myself - I've learned to never say it's a ten minute poem. The people who take longer feel as if one is bragging or implying something about their being slower... Considers Art as a race and chuckles. I'm sure once Wyvern gets back from his latest scheme, he'll duck in here. In the meantime, I notice Melba has the latest issue of Dragon's Digest, whose lead article speaks on how to use different stones to help digest different snacks.

I've been filled with rage So I made myself gentle. I've been filled with greed So I learned to give it all away. I've been filled with lusts So I learned to feel hearts. I've been filled with pain So I learned to heal others. I've been filled with Self So I chose to be Other.

laughs it's funny to me - I've thought that out for years, so to me it reads as contrived. I liked Vince's better.

Wow, good poem! It's a balance, giving everything but keeping yourself. The best times, in my experience, are with a loved friend. You both give in trust 100% - and end up with exponential results.

This is wonderful fun. I can just picture the blue-eyed demoness child Rune and the Neato Necro Gnomie Girl Minta running up and down the halls (weaving in and out of legs like trees) singing this. Thanks for the mind picture and the poem.

Yay! I like this one. 10-11 years... Learn from the past. Plan for the future. Live in the moment.

Oh wonderful continuation (and confrontation). You've opened up all sorts of possibilities for the future. bites popcorn instead of his nails, waiting for more with a pretense of cool.
