  1. Peredhil stood blinking in surprise with his hands to his cheeks. He really didn't think anyone would want to kiss him. He really didn't do too much that anyone else didn't do around the Pen, he was just more noticeable about it because he talked so much. In fact, he was kind of grateful that they put up with him constantly giving advice and talking their ears off. Really, he felt like everyone's Uncle, the odd one who was tolerated with amusement. He stood blinking in surprise and wonder and began seriously thinking about keeping some of his Geld to bid at the Bachelorette auction, instead of giving it all to his Bodyguards and Sons.
  2. Peredhil carefully takes notes on each Pen Lady and frowns at his Geld voucher. He'll have to get that updated. After all, His Bodyguards and Sons were going to borrow the Geld he himself didn't spend on bidding to place their own bids... OoC: Ladies, if any of you WOULDN'T want to write a date with either myself or Guido, Nuncio, Elladan, or Elrohir - PM me! I seem to have a lot of Geld and everyone of you look like winners to me. Of course (winks at Zariah), if one of you is hoping for a date with that Certain Guy, they'll have to start earning Geld to top my bids...
  3. *nods and, ignoring the words and fist, hugs the man behind them again.* Yeah, I figured. But they're good questions anyway. And since when has defining an issue ever solved it? I know many of my problems and am still working on them. But it's a Good Thing to be able to question yourself and share the questions. You'd be amazed (or maybe not) at how many questions people can take and apply to themselves in their hearts. Thank you for posting this.
  4. Peredhil ambled toward his Kissing Booth, happy to see that Elrohir seemed to be enjoying himself. He was afraid his shy son would have been bored - he always seemed to communicate better with a weapon and a Cause. Sliding behind the counter, he gave Elrohir a hug. "Thanks! You don't have to go help Elladan. I've given him full control of my Reincarnation Armies. Someone drove the Mr. Bunny to kill himself." Elrohir flinched. Elladan given complete free rein with Elrond's blessings?! It was a Plane based on war, but still! "I'll make sure I avoid it then. You did tell him not to kill any allies, right?" Peredhil frowned for a moment, then cleared. "No, but I'm sure he knows not to do that. We went over the Decalouge together." He made a dismissing gesture. "Well, since I'm only going to be here until Christmas is over, I should take my place and see if anyone has pity on an Old Elf." His son looked at his father and started laughing as he thought of HIS "boring bench-warming" stint. "I'm sure that you'll find something to keep yourself amused." His Dad was still staring after him as he walked away laughing. OoC: I was just gonna have Peredhil in the booth on Christmas day, but I've been informed much to my surprise that someone actually might want to kiss him, so under duress I'm gonna keep him in there until January 1st. Umm. You don't have to kiss him if you don't want to do so, you know.l
  5. blushing furiously his hands smoothed the satiny wood in his hands self-consciously. He mumbled something even he knew was incoherent, and the realization he was being Rude helped him regroup. He was so CERTAIN that his being in the booth would just be a courtesy thing to let people know it hadn't closed yet! He never thought someone would even talk to him, and kissing hadn't even crossed his mind. Still blushing, he answered. "Uh, mrph blorple gumple." Realizing he was babbling an a tongue from a Plane which didn't even EXIST any more (although it was the last one in which he'd sorta kinda had a girl friend. A friend who was a girl. A fellow warrior who was a lady. Oh heckfire, as she'd put it, a chick in chainmail. Anyway Alaeha was patiently waiting on him, although that gleam might be laughter in her eye, she was nice enough not to laugh out loud at him and he took a deep breath. And blushed again as his voice squeeked before settling back into his normal baritone. What WAS it with his voice and woman! Augh! "Um. Well, not so much since we settled here at the Pen. Every one in a while I'll get a request from some old friend who doesn't know I'm out of the Mercenary business, or some Diety who doesn't have fighters as part of their Thing. Uh, Thing is what I call it, but not what they usually call it. Anyway. Not much. I just, um, wanted to show you a good time." NOOOOO! I didn't just say that! That's what Elladan says when he - He blushed furiously all over again. "Uh, with it so hot here, isn't the snow nice?" He was suddenly grateful that the Snow Maze had produced enough cold that snow was covering the grounds in a glistening blanket. Suddenly his embarassment was gone and he was on alert. There was a subtle spell here. There wasn't any slush, there wasn't any snow or ice on the paths where people walked, and the snow replenished after people played in it. Plus no one was getting uncomfortably cold. Borrowing a trick from his Dad, he let the Pen Keep's essence flow through him unresisted for a moment - and found no dangers. It was just a byproduct of a foundational spell woven into the fabric of the stones. The Pennites were enjoying each other, and so they their joy was manifesting as magical environment. Almost magical. More natural. Well, it was affecting reality. He suddenly wondered how long he'd been standing silent ignoring the patient Alaeha and mentally smacked himself again. "So. Really not much. Really. But it was fun. Uh, I think I need to clean up my wood shavings before Dad gets here. He's overdue. Shavings. Uh. I'm making a bow I think. I dunno, that sounds funny. I've been working this wood for a while. I had it seasoning for about a century, and have been shaping it for about another hundred years off and on. It looks like what's emerging is a bow. You think?" He chanced a look at her face and thought miserably that there was never an evil overlord around to fight when they were needed. The women of the Keep now finally knew he was a social loser. He sighed within and smiled at her. "Umm, gotta pick up this mess you know! Thanks for the donation and the chat." Augh. She hadn't had a chance to say a word! WHY did he babble. Elladan got ALL the smooth. He quickly straightened the booth and stood up just in time to see his Dad approaching, a healthy color in his cheeks, carrying his old ice skates.
  6. Sorry, I've never been good at keeping responses to myself. *hugs* Good questions.
  7. Wow. Powerful and lyrical. I like! *hugs*
  8. Peredhil gives Christmas Huggles to everyone who'll take them.
  9. Have you ever felt the pressure? The pressure pushing behind your cheeks? Tears wanting to flow Yet your eyes are dry? There are tears to flow But they just won't go, You've lost the knack and can't get it back. Have you ever felt so much? So much you dared not touch? Kindness or gentle respect Might loosen the feelings of neglect. You might have to confront the past. Perhaps make a change in the present.
  10. OoC... You asked for it... An Ode to Tights! Oy! the confining spandex joy! Oy! I'm a stretchy bulgy boy! Oh! They show off assets so well! Oh boy, cleaning them is drycleaning hell! When I'm skating in my tights, It seems my leaping reaches new heights Oh! The shimmery shining pants! Oh! the way they help me Ice Dance! Oy! I'm sliding on my tights, for Oy! Watch out world, I'm out the door! Contrary to all he just declaimed, Peredhil pulls up his grey raw silk Armani trousers and slides his feet into antique skates. After tighting the laces and pulling his pants down over the boot tops, he takes a few wobbling steps, and then glides as old skills come back to him. Soon he is leaping and twirling as well as his suit allows, totally forgetting that Elrohir is waiting to be relieved from duty in his Kissing Booth.
  11. Falcon! You gave us the Reply Raven, the Many Rooms of the Pen Keep, plus amazing poetry and participation. Although you’re not as active as you once were, I can’t imagine the Pen family without you. In a way, you’re one of the ones who feels very much like a son to me (no offense intended). Believe in yourself, push your comfort zones, and force life to say “no” to you by always trying to open new doors. -Peredhil Finnius, The only person to whom I was ever tempted to give a password. Your idea of writing in each other accounts on the Archmage UBB was brilliant – as are most of your schemes. When we “revealed” that you were actually a character made up by me, it would’ve been priceless to see the reactions. I almost regret I didn’t take you up on it – but I still think with your imagination and skill, it would’ve been better to have me revealed to be your made-up creation. Thank you for letting me be part of your life. The way you support your friends is not only amazing, it’s quirky and refreshing at the same time. -Peredhil Foe Calibur (Matteo), I miss your poetry and support. You’re another who hit Quill Bearer and just faded away. It’s a definite loss and I hope you come back. * hugs * -Peredhil Gryphon, I love your energy, skill, and that you can easily kick my but on the Guild’s rearranging word thingie. The way you construct your works but manage to keep them human is too cool. -Peredhil Gwaihir, I love the character, I love the Wiggly Cabbages. But most of all, I love the person behind the Avatar. Thanks for being a sounding board to my life on Yahoo! Messenger all those times. I think you have an amazing testimony to bring to the world, and I’m glad you’re following your heart and pursuing your passions. You’ve taught me a lot about when not to be Polite, and I don’t think you understand the depths of respect I hold for you. I’d never manage the Assistant Lore-Master position with the grace you brought to it. We WILL manage to meet before I leave the area, I hope! -Peredhil Gyrfalcon, Demi-God of Terra Lost, Elder, and someone I count a friend. I wish we had more time together online, but the fault is mine. I think it says something that it was a mind surprise to find that someone for whom I had so much respect was younger than I’d thought – I’m usually pretty good at judging that sort of thing. You have an amazing calm and great RPing skills at defusing situations justly. -Peredhil Happy Budda, Heh, the only Pennite to have eaten me. You’ve managed to cheer me up at times no one else did; I love your enthusiasm for life and heart for others. When I was fading away from the Legion of the White Rose because I couldn’t make time for EverQuest, you were right there keeping the ideals of honor and comraderie that too many others had become disillusioned and lost. Thank you for your IRC presence, and your Pen presence. It should be no surprise that someone with a heart that big carries it in an even bigger body! * snicker* -Peredhil Hopper Wolf, It was a welcome addition to have another wolf at the Pen, and you entered with grinning teeth and padded steps. But Role-Playing aside, I think I most appreciate your presence in the Banquet Hall, not only writing good works, but providing meaningful feedback on how other’s poetry affected you. -Peredhil Illianna Wolfsong, Another poetess who’s faded from our midst, like ephemeral fog, remaining just a memory. You wrote lovely poems; it would be nice to read another from you. -Peredhil Imposter, Long time no read here at the Pen. You’ve left Aardvark to really show our membership how to write in the Assembly Room and what a Troubadour can be. You really helped to set the standard for a Troubadour high! Anyone who can write like you should be more active – if life allows. I think if you came back to us, you’d find fresh enthusiasm in the Guilds. -Peredhil Isachar (and the Squirrel Duo), I love your writing and commentaries. Your Role-Playing is quick and bright, and I think we became a bit too slow and stodgy here. Your Legion promotion commentaries were brilliant, and if we could get you back, it would worth be worth it to hold promotions Role Played on IRC just to read the squirrel’s take on what happened! -Peredhil Izabella, Bella means beautiful and that fits so many things about you. Post more so we can promote you! -Peredhil
  12. Guido squeaked and jumped as high as the ten-foot-tall dominion tapping his shoulder. By the time he'd come down, he'd twisted so that his snub-nosed revolver was pointed at Knight. He hostlered the gun quickly as he looked up at the laughing angelic being. "Doan youse DO dat! I nearly dropped pellets!" He then gave lie to his indignation by giving the big guy a hug. Turning to Wyvern, he responded, "Sure, youse can have what's left." Eyes gleaming at the notion of a continued free meal, Wyvern bounced his bulging stomach over to the salad plate. Guido was uncomfortably reminded of an cobra assassin who'd eaten a cousin of his, despite his cousin being bigger than the snake. Dat's some stretchin'! Wyvern drooled slightly, and then recoiled in disappointment. With shaking claw, he speared the one sliver of lettuce remaining on the platter. "Gee, thanks Guido."
  13. Damon Inferol, For a while, you and your friends pretty much were the life of the Conservatory. As good a RPer as you were online, I think you were a neater person in life. Good luck in College! Stay in touch. -Mr. Peredhil Deadly Nightshade, You have a voice for poetry that I miss. Plus your conversational postings in the Cabaret were fun to read. Come back! -Peredhil Degenaro Angelus, From the Roving Poetic Reporter of Archmage UBB, to the Pen, to IRC, to Real Life issues, you’ve always been there for me. I tend to be the support of others often. There were times that you were the support and listening ear for me. You have all the normal confusions and questions of your age – and yet you rise up to help friends with a wisdom beyond your years. Thank you. -Peredhil Doctor Evil! My oldest and dearest “Enemy”. I thank the Doctor for providing so many great plots and opportunities for Role Playing. The Peredhil hopes the Doctor and the Peredhil will remain in “conflict” for years to come. Sincerely, Peredhil DoPeY, Yo yo homey where you been? We’re missing your voice here at the Pen. That rhymic master of Freestyling rap, clever and gentle but takin’ no crap. Friend and critic and that’s not all, your contributions here have not been small. Yeah. Yeah. Word up, yo! -Peredhil Dragonqueen, Don’t give up hope, we’ll get your Quill Quest done! You’ve definitely shown the commitment and participation, but even more so, the “family feeling” which sets the Pen apart from other places. -Peredhil Drummondo, Though you’re relatively new, you’re making an impact with posting and participation. You bring up some good points in the IRC thread – thank you for providing input into the Pen process. People of all ranks should feel free to have an opinion and to not feel intimidated by the “power voices” of the Pen. Good leadership by example in that regard. Plus, you’re active in the Carnival! Yays! -Peredhil Elvida, You posted poetry for a while that was well worth reading. Where have you gone? Come back and post more. Although I haven’t been commenting much on anyone, I do read whenever I can. -Peredhil Elwen Lady of Stars, You let me write about you once, and were gracious enough to put up with what resulted. I appreciate your good humor, and good Role Playing. Soooo, when are ya gonna do that Quill Quest? -Peredhil
  14. I think the villain's minions should be mobile (not too bright) mini-onions.
  15. LOL Vigil!
  16. Love Letters Canid, *A scritch behind the ears, and a freshly killed Rabbit.* I never did understand why they tried to kill you on the Apprentice UBB. I’ve always enjoyed your lupine RP, and when you step out from behind the avatar, your comments are always thoughtful, researched, and well-stated, but allow others to disagree. You were the first RPed wolf I’d ever met, and set the standard for me. -Peredhil Cerulean/Scarlett O’Harpy, You’re such a spectacular poet and writer, and were one of my first online friends. I’m sorry I messed up so badly in giving advice on a relationship which was none of my business. I still cherish you as a friend, and await the day you breeze back into my life. -Peredhil Chamelea, Hey, I’m so sorry that you’re so swamped at work. Plus all the rest of Real Life. I hope that someday you can pursue your dreams of writing, and that your path will lead you back here again. *hugs* Hang in there. -Peredhil Cheyenne, Heh, I miss you a lot. It’s a long time since the Seekers of Babylon. You were the primary inspiration for the first poem I had published. Stay in touch with me. -Peredhil Cryptomancer, Wow. You and your mates blew in and revitalized the Conservatory. From there you’ve made yourselves wonderfully at home in the Pen, and not only show energy, but talent. I’m really glad you came to our online home. -Peredhil Cyril Darkcloud, You sent the standard for me in useful critical feedback that polishes a piece and affirms an individual both at the same time. I still use the desktop wallpaper you made for me. I miss having you around, and hope you find all the answers for which you’re seeking. -Peredhil
  17. Elrohir looked after here wonderingly. With the outrageous antic of the Bodyguards, the brooding charismatic power of Elladan, and (of course) The Peredhil, Elrond as a father, he normally, happily, overlooked. It was puzzling in the extreme. He'd never really sought his own glory. For one thing, he just did what needed to be done anyway, where's the glory? For the other thing, it always seemed to mean so much more to others. Magi, Bards, Dieties, they all wanted credit recognition glory. He preferred slipping back into the audience so he could help cheer. It wasn't that he ran from attention. Running attracted the eye. A quiet smile and easy walk away from the limelight, that was the ticket. But Yui-chan stayed in the shadows too. And she hadn't wanted a kiss or anything, just to say her say and fade away. It was a very confused Elf who picked up the piece of yew and went back to shaping it into a bow. ~~~ (OoC Parenthetical Note. Unlike the Movies rendering, or Everquest, the Tolkein Elves from whom I ... well, let's be honest, from whom I stole Elrond and the twins, anyway, the Tolkein version didn't have pointed ears. This made them rather unusual in the Fantasy genre of the time. For that matter, most fantasy Elves in the '50s were tiny magical little critters. Anyway, Elrond, Elladan, and Elrohir (in my mind) are round-ears.)
  18. You know, in a very odd way, this echoes this season's feelings very well for me. Perhaps its the contrast between media's expectations and the reality, but the holiday season seems like a fever dream. The problem with suicide is that you can accidently kill yourself.
  19. Whee! Now I know it's gonna be Christmas! I love this every time you post it.
  20. Hark, the lemoned salmon sings! Go and eat, those turkey wings! Pieces of turkey and giblet gravy, Perhaps you'd like some stuffing maybe. Pieces of ham or roast beast too We recommend it all to you-oo, Avoid the fishies of the sea We don't wanna be eaten you see-ee, Avoid the fishies of the brine, Eating turkey is just fine.
  21. LOL!
  22. Elrohir raised an eyebrow, and then let it join the other. A paying customer going away unkissed! That would be Rude! Putting down the piece of yew he'd been shaping, he leapt lightly over the counter and lithely dodged through the crowd until he'd caught up to the wandering Angel. 'M'Lady... you forgot your kiss!" Looking into her eyes for a sign of negation or assent, his heart was melted by the whirl of loves unreturned, gestures unappreciated, pains of a tender heart, the need for love but the misapprehension it must be deserved, all the burden of a loving angel in a mortal world. He couldn't help himself, he hugged her tightly, protectively, letting his love for her valiant spirit flow through his strong arms to be a balm to her wounds, letting the brightness of his spirit light the dark places in her and show her they they were accepted. After a timeless moment, the noises from the Carnival impinged on his (non-pointy!) ears and he reluctantly released her. "uh, sorry about grabbing you without permission like that," he apologized clumsily. He couldn't read the expression in her teary eyes; he hoped he hadn't hurt her mauling her with a strong hug like that. Blushing furiously, he kissed her tenderly, and fled for the safety of the Booth.
  23. OH! Let me move my comment here. Good stuff, good to read you again! I'll delete from the main thread. *hugs*
  24. A Happy Birthday, I wish for you, this, your day, Our Saint of Haiku.
