  1. Yay! Happy Birthday!
  2. wondermous. Youse da best
  3. Oh MY! The Knight people *really* read far more into it than I ever thought to consider! Reminds me of myself and Tolkien books.
  4. Gwai, I guess you aren't done, because you didn't Finnish...
  5. huh, there's a link? It's been refuted? Wow. It came out of a discussion with Nyyark and a couple of others about the books. The description of Ron's face was similar to the young Dumbledore in Chamber of secrets, and they both had red/auburn hair. Ron always gets socks for Christmas, and Dumbledore saw socks in the mirror. The jelly beans shouldn't've been made when Dumbledore was growing up, but he'd tasted a vomit flavored one. Basically, I was pointing out continuity dissonance from the GameMaster point of view, and just joking around. I was still joking around in my post above! If you find that link, I'd be interested in reading it.
  6. *hugs* keep the dream...
  7. *nods* Heh, I guess it's personal preference on the spelling. I know I write straight without edit, so I'm a bit more tolerance I guess. To me, the important part is to get the piece *down* on to paper/Pen, and then the spelling can be caught by a computer later. I suppose it depends on if you are one of those types who can correct as you go, or lose it all if the flow breaks. Anyway, I thought it was a pretty cutting and accurate commentary on the social results of political thinking. One nice thing about it is that every four years, the U.S. of A. has a peaceful revolution which changes out the government and allows things like this policy to change.
  8. I still think Dumbledore is Ron Weasley gone back to the past through time travel...
  9. I love the irony of the ending. Mankind thinks they are the center, but life goes on. Hmmm, I can make a pendantic message out of anything! ( Really liked this one. Vivid descriptions and the character shows through words and deeds brightly without being laboriously and explicitely described.
  10. *hugs* Welcome back. I, for one, missed you.
  11. Wishing you a better next year than the one you've just had. *hugs*
  12. Stands up and applauds Quincunx's post I love information through parables.
  13. Hercules: the cloak was steeped in poison that had him *feeling* unending pain and torment. Zeusy-baby transitioned Herc into a constellation to end his suffering. oh - and I love you.
  14. As Lord Panther sets out to find new threads, led by a waddling Melba, Woody hears her asking, "So Panther, do you know Brute? He's deleriously in love with me." Woody remains open, sighing with a creaky noise. Two is standing in the Office still, trying to determine how to find a missing stamp in a place he doesn't know. Or trying to figure out where to start now that the starting place has failed. "Stamp eh?" Two paces thoughtfully. Having determined that Two doesn't have money, Wyvern ignores him to dig through his desk. Carelessly tossing old applications and schemes aside, the Almost Dragon soon disappears behind a wall of refuse. The Inky Horse is successfully driven away from Zool's painting by Zool's cleverly alternatedly beating the horse with the Rubber Chicken, and screaming at the top of his lungs. Zool is so excited that as each yell reaches a maximum volume it pops into a white word bubble with a comma shape pointing to his head. Despite the screaming, Grimmael does not come to his rescue. The Inky Horse makes it's splotchy way back across the wall, leaving black ink road apples trailing behind to show its disgust with Zoolio's selfishness refusal to share his green green grass. Hearing Two's muttering, the Horse listens for a moment and suggests, "You should ask the all-powerful Creator. If She can make me, she might know where the stamp is." "It's worth a try," thinks Two, "After all, it is advice straight from the horse's mouth.
  15. Ouch! Treating the person as an object, the height of non-appreciation. Selfishness and my-needs-first are sweeping 'cross the nation. Those who suffer in silence suffer in increasing need, trying to support others even while they bleed. I note the rose has no thorns to protect itself, and no recourse to attack.
  16. Nicely done. Odd resonance, there were times in my life where I felt like I was going through the motions of being me, an imitation of myself.
  17. I only have time to write one this time, my apologies in advance. The highest bidder can have a date with either Peredhil, Elrohir, Elladan, Guido, or Nuncio.
  18. Excellent and thought provoking Wyv. For my general purposes, I stick with the three broad categories given by the Greek words: Agape, Philos, Eros, with the following meanings. Agape - I love you as a choice, as an absolute, with the love that always wants the best and does the best for the one loved, even if it hurts their feelings. A love that always rewards good and doesn't give a false reality by rewarding bad. A consistent love. If the lover were a radio, they'd be an FM tower, beaming out love to all those in range, and not expecting feedback or considering the "value" of the radios receiving. The act of loving is the reward. Philos - The love of one human being for another. if each person is a Love bank - the feeling of love for the other person is a net value summing all deposits of nice and withdrawals of non-nice. Sort of "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". It is based on personalities, common interests, etc etc. This love can be superficial or powerful but it requires a knowledge and feedback from the other person. Eros - desire. I want. I want the other person, I want the other person to want me. From physical lusts to domination games to mind trips, there is always a central feeling within the person loving that must be met before any feeling is expended on the other. It can be mutual and sharing, or can be one-sided and a form of rape. The three taken together are why for some people I can sign my letters AP-E. I love them, I love them, but I don't desire any ownership over them or lust for them. Again, great poem.
  19. Happy birthday Crowboy. I remember the day I cut your umbilical cord. You were alert from the first moment and your eyes tracked immediately. The more births I've seen the more that stands out in my memory. I'm very proud of you.
  20. ((OoC: Welcome welcome!!! 'Bout time you made it here to the Pen. *hugs* Peredhil - 53 of the C.C. ))
  21. Peredhil helps her pat the earth down and then gently wipes a smudge of dirt from her chin, It's okay, there was a period where I was killing every thread in which I posted. The person above me has a gentle heart, yet is capable of amazing fire at seeing injustice.
  22. The large room had the slight lonely echo that follows an Event. The wisk of brooms on the floor, the clink of glasses being moved from tables, the quiet murmur of voices as the cleaning progress, the silent sounds of cleaning. Guido and Nuncio were wiping down tables and stacking chairs. Other Pennites moved about their tasks. Peredhil suddenly sat up with a bright smile. "I have it! I've got my Open-Mike entry!" His smile made the room suddenly brighter. He looked around. Startled eyes looking back. He listened. Dumbfounded silence. His smile slowly crept away from his face. Guido shook his head, his expression filled with pity. "Youse too late Boss. Dey closed Open Mike a long time ago. Back when youse was pulling yer hair. Mira won da whole sheebang. Dat was an hour ago." Peredhil blinked. "Over?" "Over." "Mira?" "Yep." "Well... good." "Sorry youse missed it all. Der was some good stuff." "Ah well then. Quite. I'll have to catch up on them. The echos linger for those with ears to hear." Peredhil propped his chin on a hand and began Listening to the Slam.
  23. Aimee, I remember you. *hugs* Feel free to PM (Private Message) me. I hope you've been doing well. -Peredhil
