  1. Whee!!! Yays to all!
  2. Wonderful! (He's #4, http://jugglingman.blogspot.com/ )
  3. Peredhil wandered in to the Conservatory. In one hand was a long spear. The shaft appeared to be black wood bound with mithril, while the foot-long head shimmered through its sheath so brightly that it dazzled the eye. Uncharacteristically, the half-elf wore mithril-washed chainmail, a gleaming helm of steel, and a silver shield set with white stars. The chain skirting, bound at waist with a white-shell decorated belt of silver scales, fell to just above green leather boots. On his finger gleamed a ring with a large sapphire stone, for Ereinion, called Gil-galad, , although he'd given Narya to Cirdan, had not yet passed Vilya on to Elrond when he bore Aeglos to the Last Alliance. Heading over, he Politely greeted his host and waited for the sneezing to stop so he could thank Zool for the invitation.
  4. A Flying body hug-tackles Tass'. Once they've rolled to a stop, the now-dust-free Kender finds a toothy grin looking down at him. "Yo!" emotes Guido "Just wanted to welcome youse back!"
  5. Just splurged and bought several Rex Stout books, to feed my detective genre tooth...
  6. I look forward to attending!
  7. Hmmm. seems to contain the angst and guilt some people experience in porn addiction. Anything that can make people wonder like this is pretty well done.
  8. Have you ever... burned something personal just to symbolically excise emotion, and then lost yourself in the dancing flames? hurt so badly emotionally that you sought physical pain to find your body again? lit the microwave on fire twice studying just how long it takes for popcorn to burn through a bag? eaten some of the burnt popcorn after pouring water on it just because it smelled good to you anyway? been wandering in the wee hours of the morning on a perimeter check and found yourself sitting petting an animal and thinking 1/2 hour later? Gotten so interested in the book left in the lavatory for reading that your legs feel asleep and you couldn't get up? wished you could take all of a friend's pain on yourself so they could sleep? forgotten to eat for four days and have to be reminded by someone on a different continent to eat? juggled time-zones in your head for three people at once, in different time zones? held simultaneous conversations with people each on one of the seven continents? spent a day in bed wondering about Identity, and why? Been so in love with someone your chest ached - and it wasn't sexual at all?
  9. Ooooh. My parents gave me the Prophet to read when I was young. Wow, 1966? Great recommendation! And now I wanna read it again. Anyway, I found myself reading this aloud the second time, with the repetition working like a choral refrain for me. This felt like a song. I'd love to hear someone like Aimee Mann sing it. I'm with Da Yog - line breaks would visually make it easier for the eye to flow through. Specially for we ADHD readers who distract ourselves! I love it when you post, you always give me something I can feel.
  10. I've always found it to be true for me. I find that while I may burn in helping others illuminate themselves, the pain is not too heavy a burden to outweigh the joy I find in seeing their discovery, and like a phoenix I am not consumed but rather exalted. yes, love is vulnerability, and it takes a certain strength and courage to choose to be open, knowing that you WILL be hurt - a certainty because human beings are human and mistakes are part of us. But, speaking for me... It's worth loving others still, even when they can't love themselves. Loving them when they are acting unlovable. Holding up to them a vision of their potential, and holding them up to their light. Even when wrapped by their flames. It is worth it - to me.
  11. Wow. This is the best of the Almost Dragonic line of CDs yet. From the cover art and back, to the contents, it is pleasing visually and aurally, with thematic and musical flow that takes the listener on a journey. You've outdone yourself, Wyvern. Thank you for the endless labour you put into our community.
  12. Oh welcome back in a big way! *hugs* I had an image of a dragon as well. Nicely done!
  13. Door opens quietly, creaking slightly in woody mirth. A Giant Guinea Pig, dressed in a natty suit with two-toned shoes, topped by a fedora, peeps through. "Most distinguished Elder and Bard Wyvern," Nuncio calls. All jump at the unexpected bass voice. "I happened to be resting out in the waiting room, eating Melba's biscuits, reading Horace Walpole as I wandered the hallway, when I couldn't help but overhear the magical words 'Almost Dragonic Brand Guinea Pig Deluxe Health Spa Resorts™'." The Door smirked with ingrained humor "I think you've finally found a product my brother Guido and I might be interested in reviewing. So I curtained my wall-poling activities and infiltrated your establishment. Do pardon the interruption?" He smiled hopefully. "Huh?" replied Wyvern, taken back by the dapper Bodyguard "I'm interested in the Almost Dragonic Brand Guinea Pig Deluxe Health Spa Resorts™, Nuncio said slowly and carefully, advancing his bulk toward Wyvern's desk. Tanny and Bartleby scuttled out of the way, while Wyvern perked up. A scheme might work? The Almost Dragon swept the desk clean with a claw, forgetting the Applicant. "Do come in and talk! Do you have Geld on you?" He began sniffing greedily, eyes gleaming. "Happen to know where Peredhil keeps his treasure? Heh heh - small joke there." Tanuchan, with visions of an enraged rodent of unusual size throttling an Elder, swept up Bartleby and made a prudent escape.
  14. Peredhil wanders in, dressed casually in a grey raw-silk suit, reads, and then hugs then ever-faithful Patrick There have be so many times that I only know that the boards have had a problem because you've fixed it. I for one SO appreciate what you do for our community here. It frees the majority of us to write. hugs again and saunters on
  15. Because helping a light bringer is always worth the cost? Nice one.
  16. Guido stood in the doorway, filling it nicely. Three hundred-twenty-nine pounds of (dieting) Giant Guinea Pig, dressed in a neat tuxedo. He adjusted his fedora and blinked large warm eyes at the mayhem, then smiled. "Hey, youse guys started anudder party wit' out me!" Sniffing and wrinking a bit at the citrus air freshener they were using, he began picking his way through the mess that usually accompanied a Wyvern-sighting. Although this one was exceptional. "Wow, whadda orc-sty! Youse guys bedder gets dis cleaned up before da Boss shows up. You knows he'd feel he hadda clean it up for youse all."
  17. Catching up finally. Congratulations WiB!
  18. It'd be nice if all soldiers had someone to support and understand them. Well done.
  19. Politely hugs thanks It was a WONDERFUL birthday, with cake, balloons, and a Katana!
  20. Peredhil wanders by, smiles happily, and hugs her until she's well-hugged Congrats!!!
  21. This I like. Just a personal preference, but I'd change "When she was scared." to "When she was afraid,". The double-'s' sound doesn't scan as well when read aloud, to me, and it feels more grammatically correct. Good to see you posting.
  22. Ghosts in and gives Yui-chan a bag of Peredhil best Polite hugs
  23. Nods to Regel Anyone who knows me as long and as well as Parmenion knows I'm a hard-cored Christian, so I decided to focus my feedback on the work itself, as a vehicle of expression. One thing I've always loved about Parmenion is that he has a knack of unflinching honesty about expressing his beliefs, without attacking others. I see that again here. He states repeatedly his experiences, his conclusions, his views, but doesn't push them as the only conclusions or views. I love that when it is done well. I was hoping I'd have the energy to let this piece lead me into a poetic response, which is one of the best ways to deal with disagreement in a site like this - respond to a work with a work - but my energy remains in at low tide. Thank you to all who've replied, taking up my slack! Peredhil hugs them one and all
  24. Wow, welcome indeed! I like your vivid similes, and how you move the reader through the scene.
  25. Tears push at my cheekbones But that's not me. Strength pours out like water But that's not me. Gazes on the abyss within But that's not me. Struggles to live in the now But that's not me. Ever tired but never sleeps But that's not me. Pain keeps body focused But that's not me. Rises up to help Works for me. Follows right not crowds Works for me. Speaks truth but kindly. Works for me. Broods on Self... Which is me?
